Hi guys, new here. I belong to a few car forums online, and visit when time permits. You all seem like a good bunch of guys so I decided to ask here about my car. I own 2 Zs. A very rust free 72 240 blue and white needs restoration, but runs and drives. Its an Az and Ca car so the rust free part is legit My other is what I call and is titled as a 71 Fairlady. This car was in Hawaii for some yrs and on the base in SD Ca for several. Has its share of rust thats for sure but its restorable. 2.0 motor, 5spd, cruise control, rear window defroster etc.. Im trying to find out more about the car overall. Serial # is S3006448. It only has 28k kilometers on it which m…

I just started thinking about how much money I have spent for my car:classic: , even though it's a lot and many people would ask me why I spend that much money on my car I am not scared by the amount, I would and will spend way more money for my Z. So I'll start this off I don't know how much I have spent on my Z exactly but I would have to say about $2,000.00. How much have you spent on your Z?

Hey guys, as you may have read in my first post, when we first bought my 280z, previous owners put a l24 engine in it. Since then we put a new correct l28 in it. I was curious how much you guys think it might be worth? It's sitting in our garage now, but the last time it was ran which was this summer, the headgasket blew so that will need to be replaced, it has nothing on it either so no carburators or exhaust manifold. It did have great compression though, 165-170 on all 6 cylinders. My dad I were kind of wondering how much it would be worth in this condition and if it would even be worth putting on Ebay?

Here's an update on the 240Z I bought earlier this summer. I've been able to spend a fair amount of time getting to where I'm at, with so much more to go. I stripped the car down to the metal shell to address any rust issues. I sandblasted the inner floors and the bottom of the car to assure a clean surface to work with. Even with plastic curtains, sand went everywhere in my garage, I'm pretty sure I won't ever do that again! The floors looked pretty good and the amount of welding required was minimal. After grinding the welds, I did the Marine Clean, Metal Ready & Por 15 routine. I applied 3 coats of Por-15 to the inside floors, trans tunnel, firewall, inside…

I had chris at www.cecoatings.com ceramic coat my rusty old header. First he derusted and cleaned it, then applied silver coating inside and out, tumbled it to polish the inner part of the tubes and coated the outside in black. Before: After:

This is a post about something so small, but was curious if your valve covers were the same way as mine. On my valve cover, as you guys know there are three wire looms. On mine, two out of the three screw holes are the same size and the other one is a bigger size, 5/8 I think. I've got two other valve covers and there all the screw holes for the wire looms are the same size so was kind of wondering if mine was made a little differently. Also, if any of you have a spare wire loom lying around and you don't need, let me know I be interesting because you can't seem to buy them individually.

I stopped at a local bone yard looking for a couple things for a friends project and lucked out. While looking around in the yard I found a 240Z tucked away in the back corner surrounded by bigger cars. you couldnt see it unless you climbed over the car next to it. Looks like it has been sitting there since 1985. It looks pretty complete except for the seats and shift knob. The original SUs and intake with air cleaner are in the back and the engine has a 4 barrel intake with a Holly on it. Im going back today to see if I can get the whole car. Cant really see the underside so I am going to assume it is totally rotted away. They also had a 280Z and a 280ZX.

Bought it for about $1,800 runs fine but! needs alot of $ and work...its a california car so there is no rust at all, but all the bushings, wheels and tires need to be replaced. And I would like to modify the Engine to performe better, I love the car and get noticed all the time (cops to) My husban actually bought the car for me and he helps me work on it (most of the time)... ......OK here is my question! is this car worth it putting all this money and work into it? My husban told me he will get pissed off if he spends alot of mone…

I read the previous treads on the subject and I will go right to my particular problem which is a ventilation one. The top lever is pushed to the far right and is supposed to close the fresh air vent. The lever close but with some restriction.(the cables are not bent) There is still cold air coming from the side and center outlets which seems that there is no recirculation as supposed to be. Some months ago, the original heater motor's squirrel cage partially desintegrated. I replaced with the Honda unit that blowed so strong that the broken parts of the original squirrel cage went up to the side vents. As far as I think, no other broken pieces may still be in the system.…
