This time of the year is so depressing for us Z'ers here in the north. I had to get my blue baby tucked away safe and sound for her long winter nap. Now the Z Withdrawals are going to start I was hoping for what they call an "Indian Summer" this year where the weather stays nicer out longer in the fall to squeeze more time in with the Z but not this year. It's been a real sh!tty fall this year here Minnesota. Well anyway thanks for listening to me vent guys Z You all later,

I know on newer cars, you really dont need to rev match when shifting. But for the 240z being a 71' when I start driving this puppy around, do I need to pay a little more attention to rev matching when I am am putting around or doing a little speeding? It had just crossed my mind today when I got to ride in my buddies new Supra 1JZ TT conversion from his old stock 3L.

My engine is out yay! The previous owner obviously liked to go off roading in my beloved Z...... and really didn't know anything about these cars. For one I was taking off everything off my block. The timing chain tenser is supposed to have a spring in it to keep the timing chain tense and it had no spring:angry: ........ another thing the clutch has been replaced before, obviously he drove this car hard. Ok back on the subject, I want to clean up my engine bay but there is so many hoses etc. Should I just take everything out to clean and sand the rust off? Or would it be easier just to try to work around everything? Thx Ian

Hey - I'm new to the site and semi-new to the z world, and I was just wondering if there is any type of oil and/or filter that tends to work best for L28s (I'm about due for an oil change). I've been going with mobil one 10/30 every 2,500 - but I'm interested in what other people run - thanks

Some FYI... According to the "Tornado company" (they make the Tornado air spinner things) they recommend: --saving 100 Lbs from your car or trunck wil increase fuel economy by up to 2%. --having stuff on the roof can decrease fuel economy by up to 5%. I don't see how (or where) you could have 100 LBs of extra stuff in your Z... thx

What kind of options are there for in-car photography? My goal is to record some short drives, like on local twisties, and if it works out, maybe longer drives, say Route 66, or even the Gumball Rally. Maybe some laps on a track or autocross runs. The only thing I can think of is to use a laptop and a dashtop mounted camera. Laptops use hard drives that are sensitive to vibrations and bumps/jarring. Some digital camcorders may be useable. What else is there? Any other ways to mount a camera on a stock 280Z? I have some super-magnets from computer hard drives that can get glued to the underside of the dashcap over the center gauge pods, and the camera mount stuck …

The z car club of colorado is having their last track day of the year at the state patrol track in Golden this Saturday Oct 7th. Participate or spectate. If you don't want to drive you can always ask someone for a ride. Long pants, long sleeve shirt and closed toed shoes. If you don't have a helmet snell 1995 or newer, someone might let you use theirs. Details on the zccc web side in the odometer. www.zccc.org The may or June Odometer should have directions to the track.

i was replacing some window linkage in my door and i pulled the window out and found why all my linkage was bent. The plastic guide at the front of the window (passanger side on my 76) had broken off... i tried hammerin it back on but the peice doesnt sit well anymore and causes the window to go fall off the linkage. It appears that the knobs that click into the window frame broke so. what are my options here... any ideas?
