I have just purchased a 1971 240Z! I am so excited about the opportunity to get it up and running. I am already addicted to this website and I haven't even gotten the car home. I have attached a couple pics of the car in the condition it is in. As you can see this is going to take a lot of work. The car has been parked for 10-12 years, the owner had parked it a neighbors house and it has been totally forgotten. The neighbor and the PO want it gone, so I am going to load it up and see if I can perform a miracle. This is my first project and I have very little knowledge of what I am getting myself into, but I look forward to learning and experiencing everything that wi…

Well it's been a little while but to update those that remember my fuel rail leak issue - I was finally able to locate a used one from a place called Z Car Source out of AZ. If you remember I was going to try Z Barn. Well those bastards wasted my time. They only answered me a couple times. First they said that they could get the fuel rail for me and asked if I wanted it. I said yes and never heard back. Total wast of my time. Then I searched for another place and came across Ultimate Z and they did the same damn thing. Never got back to me and ignored my e-mails. I was really starting to get pissed trying to locate one that I pulled my original fuel rail out of my Z and w…

I haven't been out to the yards in a while. The handy ones for me are the ones in Oakland, Richmond, and Hayward. It'd be pretty handy if I could find a replacement hatch, could be anything from '70 to '77. The Oakland place had a '76 back last December that was great for pulling from. I kind of suspect the hatch was still on when they crushed it.:stupid: That place does not keep cars on the lot for long at all. So, anybody seen a car in the Bay Area yards lately? Thanks, Steve.

Okay, so I've been whining about the condition of my current project (12-70 Series I). Everywhere I look there's rust and rust on top of that. My welder friend has had health problems so none of the repairs I thought I'd have done this spring/summer were accompished. Went and cut out the passenger floorpan and rust kept going up the firewall. So, I advertised here for a better shell -- although the ad in the wanted section didn't get me results, the ad for the 280ZX here and eBay seems to have. One of our club members (a self-described infrequent poster) noticed that I shared the same home town as his brother and gave me a call. He has several Zs including a black (7-70)…

Hello to all. Newbie on this site and with the Z. Don't know which forum to post this "HI ALL" with a cupla questions. Bought my first Z, a Georgia '82 280zx 5 spd. with 170K miles with rear louver (sp) off eBay a couple of months ago for $800, only cuz it seemed like a "good" deal. Body/interior in fair shape but mechanically very good. All gauges/check system/lights work. All the factory wheelsinc. the "Z" caps are there. Only rust is under rear of passenger seat, although it's all the way through. AC not working and the radio panel has been hacked. Even came with the owners' manual!! Beforehand, I thought the Z cars were cool but never got hooked on them. See, I have …

When is it time to give up & sell or junk the car? 1977 208Z I bought the car two years ago. It ran & drove when I got it but needed front brakes (fixed), headlights (fixed), front turn signals (fixed) & windshield wipers (fixed) that I knew of. I would start up on the first crank & sounded good. After getting it home it started smoking very badly. I replaced the valve stem seals but that didn’t stop the smoke, I’ve since discovered that Marvel Mystery Oil will stop a car from smoking just long enough for a prospective buyer to look at your car. Every time I fix one thing another problem stops me from getting it on the road. Over the past several mont…

Has anybody succesfully made an MP3/WMA CD for their car CD player? My receiver's instruction book tells you some things likethe 'folders' need to start with a prefix of suqeuential numbers like 01, 02, etc., But it doesn't mention about playlists or songs go. From what I read, you just create the folders on a design, then put the playlist and all the related songs in the same folder. No help from Google. I still prefer using my MP3 player, but an MP3 disk would be good to have because you might be able to give it to a DJ or friend to play on a stand-alone or home player. Most people don't have a mini-jack or card reader on their DJ equipment (yet?) thx.
