Following two collisions with my original concours Z (not anymore) I kept the original paint for the most part and I still want the shine no matter it is 34 YO. The new panels are base coat/clear coat and the balance is the original paint that I deoxidize twice a year with TR3 to go back to its glossy finish. I know that the paint is going thinner but it is original once. One day, she will have a full "spa rejuvanation" but not yet. Recently, I stopped by a Pep Boys store and saw a product whose name is "Glass Finish" (I maybe wrong about the exact brand name) but it is the most expensive wax in the display at $21.00. it is a tin can of about 12 oz with a Corvette on a ta…

Cranked up the 240 today, it's totally awsome! Trip Webers, MSA header 2 into one, MSD ignition system, don't know what grind the cam is, but it shur is lumpy. I think it has a lightened flywheel it revs so quick! This makes my $800.00 deal (no title) 10 times sweeter! I'm in Z car heaven!

What did Nissan call the removable plate under the front of the car. Would it be a skid plate? I know I have seen the name of it on here but I can't find it.

lonetreesteve showed up and also 240zman(daniel). wlfcolorado (flake)(j/k) ;-) wasn't able to make it. Daniel is a regular zccc member. Steve has a very retsored 240z, Daniel a very nice '73 240. I brought my 82 zxt. I know both Steve and Daniel took quite a few pics. Hopefully they will post them when they get a chance. We still had 49 cars show up. Even a couple of roadsters from the colorado wyoming roadster club. Oct 7th we will have another track day at the state patrol track in golden.

I began a complete restoration 13 years ago. It lasted a few months were in I removed engine, trans., front & rear suspension, fuel tank and placed body on welded frame with castors. New business and kids stopped project and I have no intention of restarting. At time this started, the car ran but body and interior needed freshening. Body is straight but has been stored outside for six years. All other parts have been stored inside. Over $4,500 in new parts were purchased from Motorsport Auto when project started, these are still in original containers. I am located in Northern California, near Sacramento. I am willing to give everthing to the right person. If cant gi…

I am thinking of selling my 213th made 240z. under new cicumstances the car might have to go. it seems to be pretty good rust wise but does require a full restoration and is currently dissasembled. it is complete and comes with a brand new floor panel for the left hand side. The car was origanally a manual and comes with original engine. My second car is a 260z 2+2. it's in pretty much the same condition but has been sandblasted. At the moment i am only looking for offers on what the car's are worth, and a decision to sell the cars or not will be later on. Curtis

This has been a great site for info. Bought my first Z (early 260) back in March, and enjoying every moment. Had a question about the VIN #. Mine is RLS30 - 000120 I understand R = L26, L = left hand drive, and S30 = car model....but does the 120 stand for the production #. Sounds logical, but just not sure.

Hi everyone. I have been a long time lurker on this board and recently bought another 240Z to play with. I had a '71 back in 1973 and kept it until 1981 or so. While I feel I am somewhat knowledgeable on Z's I certainly have enjoyed the wealth of knowledge on this board. On another auto forum I frequent we started a thread called "Did you know....?" The thread has grown to 28 pages and takes more than 2 hours to read from start to finish and has an enormous amount of facts about the car. I thought I would start one on this board so that the wise sage's of this forum could show off a little of their knowledge and it might help to educate newbie's about Z cars. (me inc…

Has anyone got an OWNERS manual from a '77 or '78 280Z and/or an OWNERS Manual and/or FSM from an '83 280ZXT they could scan for me or loan me to scan? I do not need scans of the entire manual(s), only selected sections. From the '77/'78 I need any section that contains a picture of the vented hood, even if the text on the page does not mention the vented hood. From the '83 manuals, I need any section on the L28ET and especially the P90A head. I would scan them the night and /or next day, and have them sent right back priority mail in two days-obviously I would pay shipping both ways, and make allowances for the trouble. Thanks, I will also be at Zfest in Orlando with a s…

The photo of the interior seem to show a complete, non cracked dash, other than that, it looks messy but not terrible. I'm tempted to bid, but need to check shipping first.
