overall it wasnt a bad trip, 1st time on a trip with this engine and trip webers. South Carolina to Indiana/Illinios. Trip up , 23 MPG @ 80MPH+, figured that wasnt to bad. Rain all the way up, hit heavy rian once and did the float/hydro plane thing, that was scary as hell!! after that lost all the guages and stereo except speedo, clock and volt guage but the charge light was on but was still charging, because voltage didnt drop! anyone want to guess what it was, i'll tell you in a min. Oh what the hell, it was fuseable links! had to do the fuse block mod while up there! Try to find that $^!# on the road HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Ended up finding the Maxi 2 position…

I'll Be honest. I dont know much about exhausts or cars (yet) for that matter. I am looking at a new exhaust because my 240 is finally in roadworthry running condition so it is due time to get an exhaust and drive it. the only performance exausts I can find are on the motorsport Z store. So I bought a 1969 Fairlady from Japan, it was a good investment I think, my problem now is parts, will all the American parts fit the Fairlady, i need a E brake wire and brakes and steering wheel

That's right, no more 280ZX under the hood. Well, maybe just a little, it still has the ZX distributor and alternator in it. But the oil-burning L28 is no more, and a clean running L24 is in its place. For details (and a few pictures) of the weekend's progress, check the car's website - A Work in ProgreZZ But the short version is this: the L24 is in and it runs, quite well actually. It's rather loud now, with its totally open headers. There was no feasible way to marry the old exhaust to the headers, so the car is grounded until I can get it to the muffler shop, hopefully next weekend. All in all, a rewarding weekend for me. Have some updates that need to be posted. Its been kind of slow the progress but is getting close every day. Here are some pict of my car bodywork progress and some parts I have in boxes. Im restoring the original steering wheel. I have electronic ignition sist. crane xr3000, p91 coil, pace setter headers 6-2-1, tokico iluminas all corners and eibach springs, new weather strip, front grille, new rims 17x7 koning, poli bushings by energy suspension, new carpet.
