Were all Australian cars like this? and http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160024166166 2. Did they sell the 280z in that country? thanks in advance. Drew Oh shoot ! The ultimate display in PO (and CO) dumbassery my friends. I finally figured out why my car idles like crap. Today I went hunting for my PCV valve, I figured I should check to see if it was making good vacuum or not. On the course of this little expedition I discovered a hose that didn't really go anywhere... It was painted the same color as the body, which meant that it had probably just been resting against the sidewalls of the engine-bay (at least since the car was last repainted in the late 80's. And I thought "Gee, that's kinda funny, hoses coming off of the engine usually connect to things." So I followed it, and sure enough I discovered the PCV valve... I was in ut…

My early series 1 Z has the clear hatch glass (no heater lines) which I would just as soon keep. However, it has grind marks in the glass that cannot be removed and it doesn't look very good upon close inspection:disappoin . I can get later model glass without too much problem but not the early glass. I was thinking of keeping the glass and maybe covering it up with louvres, or I can replace with the later model glass with the heater lines. Any general thoughts? Thanks, Stephen

Many of photos of the Zs i see online do not have a belly, engine splash tray. What is the story? My 74.5 260 Z doesn't have one. I live in Houston and some times it rains a lot, I need one. Any ideas?

I've been thinking about putting these on for quite some time now. I've seen them on a few MG's and I thought they looked quite racey and retro so I finally installed them. Not 100% sure they suit the Z but I'll leave on for a while, I'm pretty sure they'll stay. They clip off quite easliy for headlight cleaning but the clips were a pain to install.

Hi guys, As a long time lurker and relatively new member I thought I would offer up the parts I don't need from the parts car I bought last week. I feel like I owe all of you a chance before I go to ebay with them. It is a '73 and I am planning on keeping the engine (roundtop SU's) and the bonus 5-speed and most of the suspenson parts. What I have that is good are the front wiring harness, dash is &^%$ but gauges appear to be good, vent control, heater core etc, vent pipes (plastic) and a lot more. BTW, the car had a complete a/c system including evaporator and controls. Virtually none of the interior trim pieces are any good and seats are bad as well. All of th…

Hey, I just found one of these on Craigslist in LA. I picked it up for a great price and some other parts cheap. I just wanted to know why the huge price on these at motorsport. These are pretty flimsy. Are people looking for these?

Good Evening every one! I needed to share a little bit about my day today. I have found out I have a P30 block and an e88 head, apparently from what I have read (thanks to Verto and sakito for the links to the great info on identifying drive train components) ,that should be kinda good. Big valve head , and a flat top piston block. I ran a wire from the battery to the ballast resistor and out the balast to the coil and out the coil into the distributer today , ran a second wire to the starter and touched the two of them to the positive. Woohoo ! after about twenty turns of the fan ; Brooooom! (can you say broom after Forty? @#$% it, I don't care ,I'm stoked), for abou…

Well I have had the Z for about 8 months now. I enjoy here every single day I drive her. Betty is her name and she has been good to me. She loves it when I rub on her and talk dirty shop talk to her. I love to brag about the upgrades she has and how great the shape of her body is. Keep in mind this is an east coast car and only has surface rust. She has lived in GA all her life and has been sheltered for most of it. Her first was a college professor in 1976, the second was his son, third was going to put a V8 in her but never got around to it (thank goodness). She stayed in the shop then. The forth picked her up in a house deal with the third and his wife said no more …

Is there any rule that precludes the use of flange bolts with split lockwashers? The flange bolts in question are the typw with a notched contact surface. I was not able to find JIS bolts of the needed size in a standard cap screw type so I got the flange bolts instead. I'd like to use them with lock washers to prevent the marring of the painted surfaces they will make contact with.
