Hey, I am looking for parts. I currently have my 1975 280z up on stands with the fuel tank out and the whole rear differential and suspension out. I am currently rebuilding those. I want to replace the brake and fuel lines from the engine bay to the rear of the car. I found a complete SS brake line kit at The Z Car Depot but can't find the fuel lines. I have only been on this project for less than a year so I am not aware of all of the resources for parts for the 1975 280Z. Looking for suggestions. Thank you for your time. E

I noticed a small coolant leak, had drops on bottom of oil pump (lowest point I presume). Added dye, checked after getting up to temp, and pressurized when cold. No spurters but I did see dye evidence bottom of water pump, around the gasket, some under the pulley, and what I think is a small leak out of the timing cover where there is a galley that I presume is there to dump any leakage from the water pump holes in the timing cover. I replaced all this stuff when I got back from my pikes peak trip and had to replace a broken TC guide. I used some sealant around the water and oil pump holes on the TC cover gasket, both sided IIRC. Perhaps I did not use enough or…

Been putting the last bits of the engine together today, I think she looks pretty good for a neophyte’s first go round. Now if we could just get the damn salt off of the roads... Hopefully it will crank easily and run well when the time comes, till then it’s brake line bending school. P.S. I know #6 plug wire looks as tight as a guitar string, pretty sure PO adjusted the dizzy cap etc to accommodate a short wire, had me scratching my head for a while

After looking mostly everywhere to find MY 73 under hood emission and inertia decals, I stroke out so I have decided to make my own! I based them from the ones I had on my hood before restoration so I have avoided all the misinformation that is out there about them. MY 73 is unfortunately the lesser loved year of the 240, still for me they are as good as the other years and deserve as much love as the previous years ? . Go find one, original, unmolested and good enough for a complete restoration ! Harder and harder to find!

I am working on my 76 280z. The recess behind the gas door was rusted out in one corner. See pictures below. I noticed that the backside was seam sealed all the way around. Where is gasoline or more importantly water supposed to go when it gets in there? Obviously you don't want to have gasoline leak on the back side of the quarter panel because the smell would be inside the cabin. Has anyone welded in a nipple in the corner and attached a hose that runs down and empties on the ground? That's my current plan.

I found 2 240z's. They were found by a friend, he took the pictures. I haven't been up to see them, but he checked for rust, and according to him there is some surface rust, nothing that goes through. The owner told him they are both 73's. The picture of the emissions tag has a 1972 date on it, so one or both may be different than 72. The owner said he drove both of them to where they are parked. He had the seat out of the red one, and they caught on fire, so he has an insurance claim. I told him I'd look for a couple seats online so he can complete his claim. I told my friend that I'd offer the guy $6500 for both of them, and I'd check online to see how clos…

My body man is finally getting around to starting my Z car wall sculpture. Thanks to Zup for going out his way in getting the driver’s door. I don’t think he needed to apply the parking brake on his parts car that he got the door from to keep it from rolling away. No one will steal it either. I’ll update as it progresses. ?

I have about 2k ohm resistance and no heat being generated (a few ma at best flow). Don't like the idea of a grid replacement kit that sticks on, and the minute amounts of conductive repair kit only allow for a very limited fix. With my VOM is seems like most of the grids are simply non conductive even though they seem intact. I was thinking of using an air brush and masking tape to mask off and reapply some kind of conductive paint. see link for a decent amount of paint to work with. https://www.amazon.com/Caswell-Copper-Conductive-Paint-4oz/dp/B00A6FO6G8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1536694226&sr=8-1&keywords=caswell+copper+conductive+paint I was ho…

I have been looking for the correct or as close as I can get to the correct paper for the different decals on my Z car. Well I have finally found some that is very close to the Gold and Silver papers. The gold is a metallic gold with a paper and gum back and looks very close to the original on my car. The silver is a metallic silver mylar material that is even closer than the gold. I have make up copies of the following decals. Paint decal with the number 302 on it. - Silver Vehicle Emission control Information - Gold The Inertia Wheel Weight - Gold Antifreeze decal - Silver The Caution hot decal for radiator - silver Vehicle Emission Control Info. on the dri…
