Hi everyone, I am new to the forums and just wanted to introduce myself. My father used to have a 260z. This was not so fun because we used to take it on vacations, mom and dad in the front be in the back with luggage. I have been looking for the right car for some time and it finally came. I bought a 1971 240z from california. The original owner gave it to his son who fixed it up. The car is very clean. only needs the choke cables atached and greased. and the spedo cable fixed, it leaks tran. fluid. Other that that she it awsome. She layed down 134 RWHP at a portable dyno in Englishtown NJ. Enjoy the pictures and come check it out in Monroe CT Friday nights. Me and th…

Has anyone found a conversion for the amount of power lost from a crank measurment of horse power to a measurment of wheel horse power due to drive train? Does that sound confusing? How much power is lost at the wheels due to drivetrain? I guess that sounds a little better. Okay, thanks.

I have a 1972 240Z. The gas filler cap is missing the chain that keeps it attached to the car. I've found another cap with a chain attached and I'd like to attach the chain to the filler neck..... but for the life of me I can't figure out where it attaches. I've consulted the FSM with no luck. I've felt around to find an attaching point, again, no luck. Can anyone tell me where and how this chain attaches? I'd really like to get that on because I'm prone to driving off from a fill-up sometimes with the cap not in place. At least the chain will get it home with me! (Been lucky so far and haven't lost it.) Thanks!! John

My apologies to all . The car I listed for parts is a 1975 280 Z NOT a 1978. I just realized my mistake.

Going to strip it down to the bone this weekend, anyone interested in helping out for FREE BEER & PIZZA? Send me a PM. Found it off craig's list listed for $400, but the guy needed to sell asap so I got it for $250! Unfortunatly I am going to use it as a parts car. The two doors and hatch have very minor surface rust which I am take off and put on my 'silver' Z. Interior seats have no tears. I hope the engine and tranny are good too. Eventually, I will gather a list of parts I will not need and will offer up for sale.

To those of you who have the Z parts CD, I have a question. In the Index by part number, are the numbers sequential and all inclusive? Here's an example of the genesis of my question. A seller has emailed me a part number from a dash wiring harness which he says is from a '72 240Z - 24013-E8827 and 24013-E 8828. Yet, when I look up the number in the Index by part number, the last entry I see in what would appear to be linear fashion is 24013-8803. I do not see an entry for 24013-E8827 or or 24013-E8828. Am I missing something...not looking in the correct place? Thanks, Gary S. BTW, the part I am looking for is dash wiring harness 24013-E4601 (1/70 to 9/70, manual t…
