I have a Craftsman pressure washer (7 hp, 2800 psi, 2.5gpm, model #580.752400) and it is misbehaving. The motor runs fine, but the pump doesn't pump. In fact, when the motor is off and the inlet water is connected I can't get water to run through it. If I remove the high pressure hose and nozzel, water still doesn't run through the pump. I've taken the pump apart in the hope that cleaning would help (it didn't) or that I would understand the operation (I didn't). I've cleaned all of the filters. The o-rings look good and there doesn't appear to be any dirt or grit in there. There is an "unloader" that looks like it is adjustable. I'm suspicious of this part but fi…

Hello all. I was interested to get your opinion on this. It is an early 240z as it has the twin choke levers, Flairs, Front spoiler, Resprayed 15 years ago and the paint is still good, reskinned dash, wire wheels, whale tail. Over all the car is in good condition and just needs a tidy up. The only blemishes is that the bonnett is bent and the passengers seat needs retrimming. The car is complete and was taken of the road two years ago as he plans to tidy the car up (That was back then) When talking to him he said that he might sell as he has had the car for 16 years and wants to bring his chrysler p76 home. I would like to get your opinion as to how much the car is worth …

Hello again. After having the 240z for 5 months I finally got some pics. I'm only 17 and look forward to restoring the z. It is currently at the panel beaters (he does hot rods so i know its definately in good hands but the price will kill me, but it's worth it). I am restoring the car back to original as it's the 213 car built according to the history. The only different things I plan to do is put a nice set of mags on it, and a cd player. I plan to paint the car the original orange and put the original 5sp back in as well as all the other bits and pieces. I also own a 260z to that is being fixed up as an every day driver now. Curtis

my car used to run like crap while sitting at a stop light... then after driving it awhile it would get better.. I could never figure it out.. I always thought it was heat and/or tuning... well, I finally figured it out ...my heat shield too close to the header and the vibrating heatshield actually sliced a hole in one of my primaries hahaha. and the hole was directly under my rear carb... I'd sit at a light, and slowly the rear carb would be sucking in exhaust, and run like crap!! :stupid:

Has anybody used dynamat in their Z restorations? I have never used Dynamat myself (not a big audiophile) but I have done some reading on sound-deadening cars and I would think that using a few small strips of dynamat here and there (door panels, c-pillars, inside back hatch) would really help the Z sound less "tinny" and rattly. Maybe this would detract from the "character" the Z's have for those of you who are truly Z purists. I would like to hear from you all (uh-oh, I just asked for opinions:) ) on what you feel about this, or if anyone has actually done it and if it made a difference or not. Regards, Astrohog

There is a 240Z listed on eBay as a 1972. It looks "earlier", to me anyway, because of a few things like the console design, where the lighter is, the defogger not horizontal, etc. Or could it just be a very early '72? What's your opinion? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=110015474345&ih=001&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT#ebayphotohosting I emailed the guy asking for a VIN # and a few additional pictures. He got back to me promptly but said the car isn't where he is right now and that he won't be near it until the auction is over. He couldn't answer any questions about what the cam cover had on it either (OHC vs. 2400).…

I mentioned in another post that I used to have a 72 240Z many years ago, but I got rid of it when I needed a bigger car for my family. When I sold it, it had rust in the common places under the doors and I am just curious about this. I am not a mechanic, but now that I am thinking about eventually getting another one at some point, are those rust areas matters of structural integrity in Z's, or are they more cosmetic in nature? I guess I am just asking because I hope to find one with no rust, but in case I come across any that have this type of rust, is it easily repairable or more of an issue than that? Thanx, -Mikey

I'm brand new to this forum. Looks like a great place with tons of info. I'd really appreciate any and all advice that you all can offer. I've got an '83 280zx. I need to drop the gas tank and either replace or clean it out and replace everything. Is it better to get an aftermarket tank, a used tank, or recycle the one that's on there now? Also is there a place that sells lots of aftermarket stuff for this year and model?

Does anybody know any where I can get a reproduction print of a 240Z's original window sticker for my 72? I've found several services for Chevrolet, but none for Nissan/Datsun.
