I purchased a Water Temperature Sending Unit along with a new retaining nut from MSA (http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/SCC13/16-7110 & http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/SCC13/16-7115). My question is how do you install this so that it doesn't leak. The retaining nut fits around the sending unit, but it doesn't seem to be tight enough to prevent water from leaking between the two. I bought a sending unit from a local parts store a few days earlier, and that one leaks when I installed it with the old retaining nut. I figure I'd get a new one and a nut to see if it would solve the problem, but it doesn't look like it will.

Hey guys, I just have a few simple questions before i shop for needed tools. Is it true the 240s and 260s use metric tools? What type tools do i use on 280z metric or SAE? Where can i get a new gas tank for 280 or 240z stock? or do i have to clean out the one given? Is it good to replace the manafold when getting a new exhaust? What are some places in the engine that has the most sludge? Where can i get stock fuel lines? Can i do without sideskirts when installing a body kit? ex. 280z with bumper-less front spoiler and rear bumber. Thanks in adavance any response is fine with me.

I recently had the opportunity to attend my first Z-car show as a proud owner. :classic: The Z-Owners of Minnesota (ZOOM) had their yearly meeting yesterday during the day, and I have to say it was extremely refreshing to talk to some like-minded people in person for a change! Attendance, I'm told, was at a record low (it had rained a little bit earlier, so a lot of folks were timid about driving their cars out, as to be expected), but there were still enough owners and fans to talk to to make the trip worth it... ... and of course the car dealership that hosts the event every year (Morrie's Nissan) is never hesitant to let us hang out there seeing as it may just help co…

http://www.classiiczparts.blogspot.com/ Just trying to bring attention to a guy named Donald who is selling some great 240 parts cheap. No, I don't get a commission, but i have done business with him and he was very honest and communicated very often during the sale. He called me today needing to sell some parts in a hurry because of some money woes, but i'm not in a very good position to help. I'd love to buy that crack free dash but can't. I guess he has a 99% complete 71 that has very little rust and an excellent complete interior. Anyhow, if you've seen his ad, I can vouch for his integrity and business manners if you get tired of screwing with ebay.

I was reading an insurance company news letter this weekend and was happy to see an article about early Z cars. It gave a little history and talked about prices etc. The coolest part about the article was how they call the Z car an inexpensive alternative to the Porsche, Jag , and the Ferarri. Guys we drive one of the badest cars ever made and that statement in the article gives a lot of credibilty to the Z to be put in the company of such exotic cars. My 3 friends that all drive porsches were kind of awe struck. It s nice to know (not that I didn't already know) that the Z is still an awsome part of the auto world that is compared to such cars as Porsche , Jag , and Fera…

ok here is the deal, I live in the middle of no where Nebraska, and I can't find a damn soul around that knows anything about turbos, I am wanting to figer out what turbos would be best for my SBC conversion in my 240z? If any of you know anything about turbos and can help me figure out a size that I would need please do help. I have tried Banks, and several other places but I don't want to shell out the $6000 all at once to buy it from them and if you don't buy the stuff they are kinda reluctant to give you the fine details on everything. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT!!!! thanks guys

Just a little update on my new project. Finally got the time to do a little work on the Z! Well time was not kind to my brakes, so I am rebuilding them from the master cyl. to the real wheel cyl. The clutch was inop as well so I pulled the clutch MC to find it full of corrosion and gunk, so a rebuild for it and the slave as well as a new hose. Here are a few pics of the car as it sits now in the garage. One of interest is the shot of the exhaust, anybody seen this setup before? It has another glass pack where the pre-muffler was and is all welded, no clamps. Looks to be an aftermarket system. Sounds pretty BA! Can't wait to get it out on the road and open he…

I thought I would see if any club members recognize this car listed on ebay. The owner says it's been in Motor Trend, Z Car Mag.(twice),Z Register (England), and the Local Newspaper. It's located in Maryland. If you've seen it, what do you think? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1972-Datsun-240Z-Classic_W0QQitemZ260000805832QQihZ016QQcategoryZ6187QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Thanks Bob

I'm in the process of getting some parts replated, looking for advice on what the best way to store them is, to protect them from humidity an such until I use them. I don't have access to a temperature or humidty controlled storage area, just garage shelves. :classic: Thanks, Jim 1974 260Z - RLS30-020697 (01/74)

I've been looking at this Z and I was wondering if you guys think it's able to be restored. Do you think it can be restored or is it better for me to move on and find another Z? The only reason I've looked at this Z is because it's a low VIN. He says the engine serial number matches the number on the shock tower plate. There was also a little damage to the left front and right rear. Unfortunately, I live about 1,200 miles away from this car so I can't see it in person. Here are some pictures. Input would be greatly appreciated. http://img354.imageshack.us/img354/5262/10005428if.jpg http://img61.imageshack.us/img61/8536/10005432rz.jpg http://img354.imageshack.us/img3…
