My Craftsman 2t floor jack started leaking and not raising a load a while back so I bought a rebuild kit and replaced seals and all earlier this year. It's leaking again and not raising a load properly, time to dump it and get a new one I can rely on. So I have found a couple and would like to hear your opinions. Both are weigh in at about 50-51 lbs. and have a lift range of 3.5 to 19.25" JEGS Professional Low-Profile 2-Ton Aluminum Floor Jack Arcan 2-Ton Quick Rise Aluminum Floor Jack

How many different versions of the 1970 240Z Owners Manual are there (for North America)? I have two. One has an issued date (on the back cover) of 15 January 1970 and one has 15 November 1970. I saw in an old post that indicated there were two versions of the 1970 manuals with a issued date of 20 December 1969 (they have slightly different covers). Does anyone have any others? There are lots of differences in the two versions I have. Here is a summary of the ones I noted: *15 January has pictures and text referencing the throttle contol lever. However, almost all throttle references have revised pictures/text that have been cut out and pasted over the originals. *1…

I travel the world for work, more days than I can think in hotel rooms, I'm thankful for this site to keep me in touch with the outside world I'm familiar with and all of the wonderful conversations and knowledge here. I know it may sound corny. But in the hotel looking out over the empty city out there on Christmas Eve, I'm pretty grateful. Oh, and Ebay.

I have this L28 engine, with SU carbs and a supposed Datsun Comp 5 speed. The guy I got it from said the engine was something special, I don’t recall the specific details as it was over 30 years ago, and he is long gone so I can’t call on him to fill me in. Anyway, I was looking it over the other day and noticed four threaded holes around the oil filter boss. Never seen anything like it before on an L series engine, I even looked at every L series block in my collection (16 or so), and none have this. It is an L28, N42 block. Can anyone give me a clue here? Thanks in advance, Racer

So with old VW's, you can write Volkswagen and get a births certificate for your car. I havent seen where anything like this exists for Datsuns. So how do you find the original color of the car without the little sticker up front if its been striped to bare metal? Maybe I have been spoiled by VW.

I'm converting my '73 240z's flat top carbs to round top SU carbs. In the process, I'm sorting out, restoring/replacing coolant lines. I found this topic while investigating whether or not to delete the manifold coolant pass-through. But, my flat tops had some other stuff I'm trying to remove if not needed. See this pic from that thread, with my mark-ups added in PURPLE and GREEN to show flat top elements I'd like to remove. The green sensor is in the 2nd pic here: QUESTION: Can I just get rid of this 5/8" hose and sensor altogether for round tops? That would only leave the coolant flowing through the intake m…

I just bought this car on BaT and am new to this forum. It's on a train right now coming from Eastern Canada to BC. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1978-datsun-280z-80 Although I had a 280Z years ago and more recently a couple of 300ZX TTs, I’m not experienced with the S30s or the collector market. To all you classic Z gurus, I’m curious as to what you think of this car – originality (engine, paint, glass, interior, wheels, etc.), condition, issues, needs and what direction I should take with it. Given its largely original state, low miles and overall exceptional condition, I’m surprised that it didn’t bid higher. Obviously the Ziebart in the engine bay, wheel…

What VIN numbers were manufactured in 1969? I found a few conflicting articles on what was the cutoff. I read where there were 500, then another said up 1100.

Hi, I found some photos of my original Z, 1971, Redwing. When I got her from the dealer, she had 7 miles on the odometer. I was scared to death to driver her home after dark, I had never driven anything with any power. I'd had a VW bus! And the radio was playing the song "D.O.A". Anyone remember it? That was scary in itself. Needless to say, I got over that quickly, with my beautiful car. The color one was before we left, of her sitting right by the front to door, grinning in delight, anticipating the trip. And the black & white photos were when we (my son & myself) were camping. And yes, I packed all our camping equipment in her deck. …

So I am completely new to this platform and am pick up a 280z tomorrow morning it is a little worse for wear it has been sitting for a long time in Arizona thankfully so rust is actually pretty minimal. But long story short the previous owner doesn't have the key and it is a Automatic transmission so I was wondering if anyone knew if there is a switch by the gear changer to pop it into neutral like most cars? Also the steering wheel is probably gonna lock up right? I am just basically trying to get it on to the trailer to get it home. Sorry also pretty new to cars this old.
