Hi folks. I just spent all day at the Artesia, NM 9th annual car show. I wanted to share. I took my Z so that "America" can have a taste. Not including the "ricers" there were a total of 5 imports. An Alfa Romeo, 2 VW's a Porsche and yours truly. The level of competition was very high. I'd guess that 90% of the older (pre 1980) cars were restored. There were some beautiful cars. Trully awesome. I was in good company. And by the way I took second place in the 1970-1980 import. The white Porsche Cabriolet (sp?), which looked like it just rolled off the assembly line took first (I voted for him). It was a gem.

Hello all, Has anybody seen the ebay auction with these neat caps? They have a chrome valve stem cover and a locking anti-theft hex key that locks the caps. I emailed the seller, he is out of Brazil, and he says he has fifteen sets left. They are 12.99 through him with an additional 7.00 shipping to the states. He says if I buy them all they will be 10.99 a piece with shipping at 24.00 for priority mail. Broken down that would be 10.99(caps) + 1.60 shipping from dealer + 1.40 shipping from me to you...that's 14.00 total. Here is a link to the auction so you can get the details and see if your interested. If I have fifteen people by Monday I'll go ahead and purchase th…

With all the talk of car values, it's got me wondering if I really got the good deal I think I did. I bought my 1 owner, always garaged 1973 240Z with 78,000 original miles back in October 05' for $5500 here in Cali. It was almost completely original when I bought it except for what looks like 2.5" exhaust piping, a 77-78 aftermarket 5 spd, early round top SUs and air cleaner, some bullet mirrors, a Kenwood AM/FM/Cassette radio w/4 cheapo speakers, and a urethane front air dam. In going through the car, the worst rust I have found is some VERY minor surface rust near the battery tray, around unused bolt holes on the lower front radiator crossmember, and on the suspensio…

I've noticed some "bubbles around the edge of the Datsun and 240Z emblems on the rear hatch. How do I remove them without damaging them. Do they just pull out or do I need to remove the panel from the inside of the hatch. Thanks.

Remember stuffing 15 people into a VW beetle? How many can you stuff into a Z? OK, which Z? I think I would go with an S30. Should the hatch be up or down? thx

I have a 79 280zx, which has a N-42 block and N-47 head, fuel injected,5-speed . I also have two parts cars, both having F-54 blocks and P-79 heads, one's a 5-speed, and one's an auto. My mods I have,or am planning are: Triple weber 40 dcoe setup, Motorsport header, 2.5 in. custom exhaust w/ high flow cat, Magnaflow muffler, Fidanza aluminum flywheel, ACT clutch kit,MSD 6al, Motorsport stage 2 cam kit. Which block, and which head out of the ones I have would be the best to use for my setup using the stock flattop pistons(from the F-54). Also , should I use the '79, or the '82 5-speed transmission? Thanks Tim

I would like to get some feedback regarding wheels and tires. I have an original 73' 240 that is in beautiful "unrestored" condition (1 repaint, in the 80's sometime) Here is my "dilema", do I keep the stock hubcaps, which I am somewhat afraid of getting damaged, due to what seems to be a high replacement cost, or do I take them off and store them away and buy a set of Rewinds? I love the look of the Konig's (and the price), but at the same time, you just do not see a lot of Z's rolling with stock hubcaps. If I do decide to go with the Rewinds, do the 15"ers look that much better then the 14"ers? Seems the 14" wheel/tire package would cost about $300.00 less but I think i…

#913 is up for auction. It's green-could be restored to look like #26, but right now it looks more like #27 back when it was on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-Datsun-240Z-Project-Car-6Cyl-w-extra-parts_W0QQitemZ4625368416QQcategoryZ6187QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Does anyone know a good plate shop. I'm looking to have hood latches, gas line, etc replated. I think the original was zinc cadmium, but may not be. Trying to duplicate the gold/red/blue plating on the original items. Thanks
