I finally got my 280z to start!!! Compared to my brother's 260z it's really quiet but, it's mine! It doesn't start very clean you have to spray a crap loud of starting fluid into it. My brother sais that I need to replace the pressure regulator, what do you guys think?:classic: :classic:

Early Z 1 2 3

Been out of things for a while so sorry if this thread is a repeat ! So, I have a 'US' 240, with a build date stamp plate (inside of drivers' door) showing June 1970, and chassis number HLS30-04944. Now, I read somewhere that the chassis numbers run was not 'consistent' and/or ran in parallel and so I'm wondering if that means that there is an HS30-04944 and that mine isn't necessarily the 4944th ever built ! Can anyone enlighten me please ?

I've decided it is time for me to part ways with my beloved 240z :sleepy: . I've listed it on ebay and I figured I'd let you guys here know. I would love to see it go to a fellow Z fan. It was the car of the month back in April of 2004 if I remember right. Good night and good luck.

I finally put the Z on the Dyno. They held it at 6500 rpm for 10 seconds to watch temps and pressures. She smoked a little but HEY, she's got over 150,000 hard miles on her and the rings and valves seals aren't so good any more. http://media.putfile.com/Dyno-Run-6500-RPM Then they did a 6000 RPM hold and HP test. They even recorder it for future referance. The muffler was OFF and brand new pipe, from the header, all the way out the back was bent and installed. Afterwards, A "Raptor muffler was put on. It sound so sweet now. Kinda has that big V8 tinny "flowmaster" sound now. http://media.putfile.com/Dyno-Run-6000-Rpm I'll Have video of the FULL exhaust on the "Putfile" si…

If I can find someone close to Columbus, ie Delaware OH need a big favor, there is a 78 Z on Ebay right now that a tree fell on, I need the wheels and hood. Have someone who could bring wheels/hood close in a pickup but the owner has to get rid of the whole car. IF I bought this car is there someone who could pick it up and pull the wheels and hood for me, maybe meet my pick up driver and keep the rest of the car. It has a good motor, tranny, and lots of other goodies. It would have to stay kinda cheap for me to bid, but it may. Mike

Saw this on Ebay, starting bid seems to be pretty high. Just curious, what are these generally worth... this one looks to be in good condition: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4620633447&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT

The insurance agency gave me a call today, and said that they wanted to inspect my vehicle to see if it is a total loss. Does anyone else in Sacramento have a Z in good condition (minimal rust, straight body, ok interior) and wouldn't mind letting an insurance adjuster get a quote from you?

i've been trying to figure something out here, and maybe this should be common Z knowledge, but are all the early style Z's, 240,260,280, dimensionally the same? i think that the weights changed, but did the wheelbase/track width, anything like that change? any help would be appreciated...thanks steve

Alright, so I'm curious what everyone else thinks the value of my Z might be, minus the front end damage done to it. I have taken a few pics with my cell phone, so excuse the quality. Here's a link to my photobucket album, and I'm not sure if it works, so here's links to every picture in case: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y46/Fast240Z/Z%20wreck/Z%20opinion/dcp02145.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y46/Fast240Z/Z%20wreck/Z%20opinion/Image043v2.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y46/Fast240Z/Z%20wreck/Z%20opinion/Image048.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y46/Fast240Z/Z%20wreck/Z%20opinion/Image015.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y46/Fast240Z/Z%20wr…

I'm advertising a coworkers 1972 240Z for him. I will have pics in the next few days. The car is located in Warner Robins, GA. The engine looks to have been recently rebuild and runs strong. Tranny shifts smoothly and finds all gears without hesitation. Rearend is in good shape, no noise. Car DOES run and drive. Car runs VERY strong and has plenty of power for a stock engine. Interior is in good shape, but is not currently in the car. The car was being taken apart for restoration. Upon pulling the carpet up and rear tires off, the rear floor pan area was found to be rusted, but easily replaceable, and a previous owner put fiberglass up in the rear fender wells and when t…
