Hi guys, Started peicing my car back together and found this bracket in a bag I tagged (during disassembly) "Accelerator Pedal" which indeed did include all the other bolts and U brackets for the accelerator pedal. I have no recolection of where I pulled this part from or what it does, I checked out a friends earlier car and cant find it. Mine is a '77. Thinking about it now, this may only be applicable to RHD countries Thanks James

Opinions please. My Z was built 12/70, and has the original plastic "Reservoir Tank" (also sometimes referred to as an evaporation tank, as part of the fuel tank / fuel supply / emissions circuit). I understand that a metal reservoir tank was fitted to later models. From a longevity standpoint, is the metal tank generally considered to be more durable? Or, put another way, are the plastic tanks prone to failure? If so, are the two tanks interchangeable? Thanks, Gary S.

On the Mythbuster show (Discovery Channel) Sunday night there was a white S30 used to test how fast you could get a HotWheels car to go. They jacked up the back, covered a tire with tape to make it smooth, and mounted a hotwheels car to an arm-thing. Then the arm was held so the wheels on the little car were in contact with the Z tire. How fast? The Hotwheels car survived up to 75 MPG before the axles broke. The reason of this was to test the myth that a HotWheels going on a track downhill, could out-accelerate a Dodge Viper (both coasting) in a 1/4 mile downhill drag race. The result was that the HotWheels did go faster for about the first 50 feet, then the Viper cau…

My wife and I are thinking about moving back to the great land of OZ and I was wondering if it is worth my bringing back my 77 280 with me or can I find a z pretty cheap still down there. I have to admit, when I lived there I did not look at z cars .. mostly women .. but that is another story. If these cars are worth quite abit these I would look into importing it. Thanks guys ... Cheers Ü

Can someone with the CD Microfiche do me a favor and look up a part number. I recently ordered a grommet and I fear I received the wrong one. I need the part number for the rubber grommet that goes around the engine bay wireing harness. The grommet sits in the firewall below the battery tray. Thanks.

With a 1976 280Z cali Z do i need to pass emissions in Massachusetts? what i hear is that its 84 and up or something like that. Any idea where i can find out any of this? I have been watching e-bay and other classified sites, but I figured I would post here too. I'm looking for a half-decent parts car I can get to from Orlando, FL within a half-day's drive or so. Ideally, I'd like a '72. It doesn't necessarily need to run and I'm not too concerned with the body. My primary goals are to get operable carbs and an AC (aftermarket or otherwise -- I'm not positive if they even came stock that early). I have a '73 so I would consider any year with a reasonable amount of sharable parts, I'd even consider a FI model if all else seemed worth it. If anyone has one or knows of someone who does, the closer to Orlando the better, lemme know =) Tha…

Well i was flippin through the want ad as usual and i came accross a 1974 international scout. I looked into it a bit more and it only has 85k miles with some rust on the rear quarters. Now i absolutely love these vehicles. I have a 1976 280z that im restoring right now, as many of u know. Im in a heated debate on whether i should get the scout or keep the Z. Living in new england and all the Z seems less practical in comparison to the Scout. Then comes value. The scout seems to hold its value alot more than a 280z and will only keep rising. One thing i cant do is have both ( just not enough room). Im confused here i dont know if i should restore the Z or the Scou…

Hey guys. I'm new to the forum. My name's Eric. I recently found a 70's 240Z for sale in the area and have been considering selling my car (02 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V) to buy this Z as a project car and buy a beater car as my daily. I was wondering, what sort of things should I look for to see what kind of condition it is in? It's been a couple of months since I last saw it. If the underbody has some rust on it, does that mean other parts of the body that are hidden by the eye are rusted? How easy is it to repair the rust? Thanks, I appreciate any information you guys can provide me!

I was just wading thru my Top Gear collection and started watching an older episode where Lionel Ritchie was the Star in a reasonably priced car. Jeremy Clarkson mentioned that Lionel has never sold any car that he's ever bought. Lionel remarked that he still has his very first car that he bought. Any ideas? Lionel Ritche's first car was (is I guess) a Datsun 280Z 2+2. Kinda neat, just figured I'd share.
