I hope no one is bothered by this plug -- but I ran into a pretty terrific-seeming car during my 5 months or so of looking and thought someone might be interested. At the last minute I found something locally, so never made the trip to Laramie to see this, but I still have some regrets. I liked the owner during phone calls and e-mails, and thought others might too. I have no commercial interest in the matter. http://www.hemmings.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/classifieds.cardetail/id/2294036/xfa_returnpage/classifieds.global-make-Datsun-model-240Z/ It's a fairly early 1971, #18997, and nearly all original. Has 99,000 miles, Mike has owned it for all but the first 6 months or so…

Hello all, not sure if this is the right section, but i thought I'd mention that I saw a 12/70 240z at the Pick and Pull salvage yard, in Dallas, this weekend... had complete engine with e31 head, drivetrain, carbs, ect.. forget about body parts (rust), but there's some stuff salvageable on it..

The came came with only one bumber and its not as small as the 240's and not as big as the 280's. The little metal panel with the vin number reads: R-LS30-037820 6/74. So is June considerd late or early? when you think about it cars come out a few monthers b4 the end of the year...but what is the same way back in 74? I think it may be late becuase the tranny tunnel is wide (i think i dont have a 240 to compare to), cause the seat sits right up aginst the tunnel. Any helpfull info would be GREAT!

Some of you might have noticed i disapeared for a while. Reason being that me and my dad had some diffrent opinion on what the end result of our 240z would be. He wanted the all original thing going on and i wanted a mildly tuned modernized z. we came up with one solution......Im getting another z. :cross-eye well now we got two projects going on. my dads original 240z and my all out assault on a 260 i picked up. The 260 i picked up already had a 280z FI engine and 5 speed transmission. Plans for this one will be a small block chevy, so you guys wont hear much about this one. Ill be more on hybridz.org for that car. i know you guys dont like the word v8 and z in the same…
