Looks like I have a leaking master vac. Have lost all power boost to the brakes (brakes themselves are OK.) I hear a noticable hiss upon depressing brake pedal (and for some reason, engine RPM increases). When I disconnected the vaccuum hose from manifold to the master vac, the sound disappeared. There's not much info in the Chilton manual I have about the master vac. Is is worthwhile rebuilding it? Are bebuilt ones available. How difficult is it to remove? I can see a real problem working in the tight space under the steering wheel. I'm wondering if it's best to hire this out. Any comments appreciated. Jon thebigboy@earthlink.net

Just spent an hour trying to post some pictures and none of them would take. I check their size and realize they are large files but can't figure out how to "trim" them down to get the server to take them. Posted what I could, but they su^& in comparison to some of the others I wanted to post. Any ideas?

I'm restoring a '70 240Z and was looking for info on doing my own zinc plating of parts. I joined a plating forum on Yahoo to gain knowledge. In my discussions, I came across a fellow who was set up to do it at home for fun. I talked him into trying some of my stuff rather than going to the trouble of setting up my own system. His work was excellent and he charged me a very reasonable price, I think. I asked if he was willing to do some plating on the side for people in the group and he said he would. Ok. i;'m very worried now. DoctorMuffn had his z stolen not to far from where i work/live/go to school. Now i've already put alot of money into my z like most people on this site have as well. I'm also collecting a very massive sound system. So if mine was to "dissapear" I would not be very happy. I also heard that zs are very easy to steal. What have you guys done to prevent this from happening to you? What kind of potection are you guys with? What alarm works best? PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!!! I have to get me one before the car starts to really start looking like a car again.

Hey guys. I've got a friend looking to sell his 1990 300zx. He has barely used it, its no showroom condition (actally in a showroom right now), and only has 5k miles on its original 300hp twin turbo-charged engine. The original dealer floormats don't even have dirt on them. Sticker price fully loaded (which it is) was $35k. We are trying to figure out probably what it is worth and how is the best way to go about selling it. A nissan collector would be our best customer, but I don't know where to go to find him. I've noticed a lot of guys referring to their 280ZX's as a 280Z! now what is with that?? do they think there is no difference? or are they embarrassed to admit that they only own a 280ZX? :-) ..and if that doesnt start a flame war, I'll have another try - do you think that history will consider the 350Z to be an extension of the 300ZX line??after all it has that V6, not the nice inline six like the Skyline and proper Z!

Hey guys, just picked up my first 240z yesterday. Loving every minute of driving it. My first Z was a 88 Turbo, but this Z is completely different in my opinion. Gets a lotta looks too. I was in Addison, and a guy jumps out of his Navigator, and shouts OMG that is Badaxx! Needless to say, he scared the poop out of me! He was from Calif., and hadn't seen one in forever he said. But anyway, I will be posting pics very soon. I should have it up and running by this weekend, just in time to cruise!
