Hello Everyone, I just had Morse Muffler shop in Burbank Ca. fabricate the exhaust system on my 73 240z, and I'm not that pleased with the exhaust tone. Morse muffler however did a beautiful job fabricating the system. I have the MSA 6 into 1 coated headers, 2 1/4 inch piping into a SS Magnaflow oval muffler, with a single inlet single outlet muffler, and it sounds a bit like a bumble bee. I drove the car with just the headers before I had this setup ,and it sounded beautiful, but too loud. What can I do to make it sound more like a 60's & 70's era sports car? Thanks, Saro

and why does the guy I bought my 73 240z from keep calling it that in email? I've been in the Z car world for years, but don't think I've heard this one before.

After looking for ways to let heat out from under the hood, I'm looking at the inspection lids to vent air out of them. Does anyone know of a shop where I can have these pressed to create louvers. I've seen many pictures of the Z car's with these on them and feel this would help cool down the engine. They also look good too!!

Well i now feel the need to do some engine mods to my Z and was wondering what would be best. I know abut the basic cold air intake and stuff like that but i was wondering what would give me the most overal power and good running engine that is reliable. The engine has 150k miles on it and runs really crappy, still gotta get around to fine tuning it. I searched an MSA book i had and couple VB magazines but nothing really caught my interest that wasnt 30000 dollars. Overal i want my cali 280z to be a smooth running, quick, reliable z. I dont want constant power but i want some there when i need it. Any input is welcome!

Hey gang, just thought I would drop some info on a 1973 240Z for sale, right outside of Greenville TX. It is yellow, but may have been another color originally. The paint is faded, but the interior is not that bad. On a scale of 1-10, I would give the body a 7. (Very little rust-solid floor pans) All glass is solid, as well as most of the weatherstripping. The interior is about a 6. This car has a Calif. plate on it, and has not been started in about 1 yr according to the man selling it. It may have an L28 swap as well, I could not see because I did not have enough light. I can assure you that it has a tranny swap, that is now a 5spd though. Has some good wheels also, an…

I would like some suggestions for an MP3 player... the Ipod mini & nano are very nice. I'd go with the mini because the display is bigger (easier to read while driving). Others I'm aware of are the Creative Zen, and RCA Lyra 2300 series. My criteria: PLAYLISTS (up to 20 tracks, minimum, EACH) 1 Gb memory (keeps price relatively low) replaceable and/or rechargeable battery (Alkaline, MiMH, or NiCd ) "big", easy to read display (while bouncing around in a car) easy-to-use controls(for menu navigation) 1/8 inch mini-jack for connection to radio (or portable amp/speakers) FM tuner (option- nice for portability) microphone and voice recording Adju…

Well guys, I finally found the Z 4 me. I am soooooo stoked! I have wanted one of these since I was 16yrs old and I just turned 40. I just picked it up tonight. It's a 73' with 78,000 original miles purchased from the original owner, who bought the car new from the dealer in 1973 when HE was 40yrs old. This car has been very well cared for. It looks like it has been in a time capsule for the last 20yrs or so. No rust to be found on the body and only surface rust on the underbody. Unbelievable! I'm going to have lots of questions! Here's a pic. There's more at the URL below. Click here for more pics of my new 1973 Datsun 240Z

Hi guys, Theres several references in this site to www.datsunprojects.org . One is for paint colors, another is for Hitatchi carb diagrams. Every time I click the links, I get a "timed out trying to connect to..." error. I have used InternetExplorer, and Firefox for browsers. One time several months ago I got on to look at the paint chips, but havnt been able to connect since. Is there some trick? Is that site down? Thanks again for the input, Zak
