OK I am asking a group of car folks "where to stick it?" My 70 was a work in progress, part of that was aftermarket water and oil temp and oil pressure guages. The oil temp probe(1/4" x 3" approx.) needs a home. Is there a logical place for the probe? Should I add a plumbing nightmare around the factory oil pressure fitting (mechanical oil pressure and the temp probe) hole? Mike

I just drug home a 70 (8/70 #9033) with AT and A/C, been sitting since 84 and all looks original. Had planned on a complete resto(floors and rails main problem) but the motor has me puzzled, it has the L24 stamped but the motor number boss is blank, parked way back in 84 and it looks it, still got the 2400 valve cover, right carbs etc, but I can't see any evidence of a stamping at any time. Oil, soap, brass brush, more soap etc, see nothing, I put a machinist straight edge across the 2 bosses and they are right in line. Looks to me if the number was ground off it would have knocked at least a couple thousanths off. What gives? Will not be a resto(at least by me) if I can'…

I have a 71' 240z that has a working A/C. Of course the A/C kills the radiator. A 240z overheats well enough with out the added A/C. I have ordered a 4 core radiator from MotorSports, but they are back-ordered till they find a new supplier. I'm not sure how long that will take. My car is due to come back from my mechanics in a few weeks, and I need to get a new radiator before then. Any suggestions? Will a 3 core work just as well? Where should I buy a "new" radiator? Mark

Hey guys, right now im "career changing" so it gives me plenty of time to get started on my car. Here are some pics of how my car looked when i bought it. http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=8408 The car is pretty clean with only minor surface rust in spots. frame rails, battery tray, and floor pans are all solid as a rock but it has its share of dingers. I just drained all the fluids and probably gonna be takin out the motor and trans tomorrow. I dont exactly know what all im going to do to this car but i am gonna take it down to the shell and get the body perfect and go from there. Im really in no hurry to get it back together so im …

This weekend has been the nicest one out of the whole summer so for in MN. Perfet sunny, clear sky, temp in the mid 70's both Sat. and today and I can't take my baby out cruising because I have to do front end work to it. She needs both ball joints, both tie rod ends, front brake pads and while I got her apart in front, I'm going to go ahead and clean/repack the wheel bearings ect. I got a price quote from Courtesy Nissan so now what I need to do is bite the bullet and order up everything and go at it. I've been dreading the Tie Rod/Ball Joint job because I knew that they were getting worn as they are the orig. ones but it's got to be done. Hopefully mine won't be as mu…

Though I've owned my Z almost 20 years I really only have been working on bringing it out of storage for the last 2 or so. Did all of the usual things an old Z needs. Welded in body panels, stripped the floor and interior, new brakes, springs, and a 5 speed. All toward looking to make a good driver, maybe local town car show thing, no restore, for sure no concourse car. But it seems the closer I get to the finish the more that "just isn't right" and so more to do. Now I'm thinking of pulling the engine to do a good job painting the engine compartment.... But does it ever stop??? Anyone ever stop?? Say the heck with it I just won't open the hood, the paint inside will matc…

I met a guy with a nice 260Z today. He was across the street from my job at a quickie mart. He's been bitten by the Z bug hard!! Car is from Washington State. Serial number 12329. Early 260 with the small bumpers. Gold metallic original paint. 5 speed conversion done and he's getting minor bodywork done. No rust on the floors or rails. He's got a great car for a first Z. He's even being encouraged by his girlfriend!! He's got an Arizona Z car 4 barrell manifold on it and want's SU's. His name is Tony Elsberry if anyone here sold him the car. I gave him the club's website and told him to look into ztherapy.com also. He's got the complete intake setup for the…
