Just purchased this Pickle Fork set off the tool guy today where I work so I can begin the big fight at home with my ball joints and tie rod ends. I can barely wait to tackle it Hopefully they won't be a pain in the a$$ to separate :paranoid:

I don't know if anybody, or everybody, has been following the recently completed auction on eBay for Datsun 240Z, NOS Choke- Throttle Assembly at this link. It went for $405. Crazy me I started thinking $150 wouldn't be bad, even though I knew it would go for twice that. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=7986384226&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT I know a lot of Series 1 owners drool over these things, myself included. I don't know why I am sure it is an unreasonable obsession, especially for those of us who don't have really early Series 1 cars. I guess it's just the something different factor. That being said, how hard cou…

Okay, I couldn't help the Frankenstein rendenition, but I thought it was suiting. My 260 finally fired up today after I re-did the points and put in some fresh gas. But, it didn't go without problems. My Z obviously hates me. During it's dormant winter life this past year, it has managed to stir up some new problems which I don't exactly care for. One is the engine runs like a blood-thirsty, menthonal-burning NHRA V-8 on steirods. It's LOUD. Extremely so. I don't mind it too much, but my neighbors don't care for it. And I know it's far from streetable. Plus, it's spitting smoke like a chimey. My first suspicions are a cracked exhaust pipe or some other leak either at a g…

Is there a gasket that goes between the firewall and the brake booster when mounted? Or do I need to put some kind of silicone sealant? I don't know if it just bolts up or some type of sealant is needed for mounting brake booster. I'm finally finishing up my car and need help with the small details. Thanks, Saro

I am currently looking for a datsun 240z from the years 71 to 73. I really dont want a fixer-upper or anything that requires any serious work. I was wondering what I would be looking at price wise, and to avoid getting ripped off what sort of commen problems with older z's i should be looking for when buying one. thanks

Okay, I've been pondering this one for a long (and when I mean long, I mean LONG) time. But don't jump the gates on this, read it first. And I am mainly vented due to some things that transpired today with some run-ins with fellow car geeks.....okay, it was a sh*tty day in all. My main ponder is why restore the Z? Besides sedimental value or a trip for a nalstoliga high, what's the point? I got this question asked to me by a fellow mechanic friend. He laid on all the best questions, including the car won't hold any resale value to speak of if I restore it (I won't get good money for selling it if I ever do) and the other facts that the car will never be as powerful as a …

Well, by taking a second look at my 1973 240Z, its too structurally damaged in the front to proceed on restoring it. So, I'm back to my 1972. I would like to sell everything I can out of the 1973, so PLEASE let me know. Sorry if you contacted me for parts out of my 1972, hopefully I can help you with 1973 parts now. - Ian

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4559597466&category=6187 Interesting eh? I thought I'd share this, even though it seems a little fishy. A positive feedback rating of '1' isn't really enough to convince me it's the real deal... but hey, ya never know...

Hi i was wondering what would be the cheapest, easiest way to make a rotisserie or if anyone has one located near massachusetts (yah right) that they are willing to get rid of. I would love to have one because i want to restore my 280z properly and with some ease. Im sure i could just make one with some time but maybe one of you has a superb way of doing it :lick:
