Hello all! First, I want to start off by saying that my dad used to own a green '71 240Z when he was in college around that time, and he talks about how much he loved the car. So I wanted to surprise him, and I have been looking for a pretty good example close by for a decent price. I located one, and want to know if it is something I should go for. I emailed the guy and asked a lot of questions, mainly about rust ! Here is where i found the ad: http://adcache.collectorcartraderonline.com/10/4/0/79667040.htm and then he sent some more pics here: http://www.kodakgallery.com/Slideshow.jsp?Uc=f17mnkj.d0cla0b&Uy=-mz1r34&Upost_signin=Slideshow.jsp%3Fmode%3Dfro…

I just purchased from a friend a 1971 240Z. It has not been driven much for many years... there are only 31,000 miles on the car. As I drove it today, there is much noise in the suspension. It seems there might be worn out rubber gromets and mounts? I am wondering if anyone else has had such problems? Also, I had one of these cars when I was much younger and I remember being told to be careful with the size of tire on the car.... I just had some 185's put on and they rub on the fenderwell.... back to 175's I guess... Lastly, I am seeing some trouble with the paint which I am told is a laquer. Checking and small bubbling in certain areas. My body shop man tells me you cann…

Well some of you might remember me from a while back, but for you who dont; Im Chris, I live in Perth, Australia and now own a very rusty but running and licenced '75 260Z 2+2!!! Im now a 1st year motor mechanic and 17yrs. Well heres my Z's story. I bought it of the original owners son. It was for sale for $600 so i called the guy ASAP. I was only the 2nd caller! So I went and had a look at it. Its very rusty and the paintwork is SHOCKING! He told me his story about how it was his mothers etc etc and said that if he gave it to the wreckers they would give him $88. So he offered it to me for $88 because it would get a good home, so i snapped it up! Its done apparently 29…

Allright well, today I went to look at '79 Datsun 280ZX I've had my eye on for a while, and first off I'm going to express my amazement with the car as a whole... I realize it's not like the highly discussed first generation or anything, but I can finally put a physical feeling behind all of the commotion made over these things. I always knew they were pretty, but I really hadn't any clue of how much fun they are to take for a spin, haha! Anyway, with that said, this post isn't all about good stuff. I've noticed some pretty serious defects with this car, and I want your guys' opinions on them, which includes how much I would expect to have these particular repairs done a…

Here are some pics of the water-cooled turbo sources.... I tee'd off the thermostat housing using a stock hole and put in a hose! As for the source I tee'd off the coolant fittings for the heater core inside the car, but it comes right before the water pump

Hi guys. I recently just bought a 1972 datsun 240z and started to restore it. I took most of it apart and I was going start from the ground up. As i got into it i realized i dont have the money or the time to spend on it, and i believe that this particular z deserves to be restored porperly. The car's unibody isnt in the greatest shape, but the rear end is solid as a rock, The Fenders are great ( right side off the car at the moment) with the exception of the bottom of the right front fender which needs repair. The quarter pannels seem solid, suspension is good ( front suspension is off the car). Before i took the car apart it ran, drove, and stopped( boy did this …
