For those of you who are familiar with the Series 1 ball joint have discovered that in 7/70 Nissan changed the size of the ball joint from a 11mm thread to a 14mm thread. Since the 11mm thread is has not been available from Nissan for at least 20 years, this change requires the Series 1 owner to replace the steering knuckles to accommodate the 14mm size. Naturally, this change affects the originality of a restoration project. I have been approached by an aftermarket vendor who has approximately 16 NOS of the 11mm thread ball joints in a warehouse. He is interested in selling as one lot for $75.00 per unit. (Comparable aftermarket price of the 14mm thread is approximat…

Three 240Zs, a 260, a 280 and a 300ZX Turbo all starting at just $99.00! I sent a question to the seller and the silver Series I in the background of the lime green '73 240 and one other will also be listed within 24 hours. Hey all. was hoping somebody might know how to test rally clocks or anyone that might repair them. I bought this one with the assumption that it doesn't work. I think I still got a deal. I also hope Alan or someone who is knows if I got the correct one that does not require an oscilator. Thank you in advance. I'm currently selling off my dealer ad on a/c parts on EBay among other items. Does anyone have this still on there Z and have pictures they can share? I removed mine long time ago and never took pictures before hand. Now I have some people asking to see how the brackets mount and what it looks like. I'm just trying to be as helpful as I can. Thanks,

Hello Im trying to solve a puzzle I have at the moment with the lock on my fuel filler door. Car is a series II 09/71 240z and would have had the key style lock as original. The current lock that is installed on the fuel filler door uses a separate key to that of the remainder of the locks...I know this is not correct. I bought the car like this. I went through a box of parts I got with the car when I bought it and found a lock cylinder which can be actuated with the original key which operates the remainder of the locks. However, at this stage, something doesnt seem right with it. Id like to know if someone is able to post a pic showing the rear of their fuel filler door…

I went to Japan for a few days...and while going thru some of the used car part places...I stumbled on a diff in a box... the tag said that it was a nismo 2 way LSD, for an R180....and my heart stopped beating... Then I looked around for the pricetag..and found it...Only 18900 yen...about 190 US$...so I ran out of breath when I took it to the counter...still waiting for my heart to start beating again... I just got back to the states yesterday...and this morning...I'm looking at it, its super clean and the ring gear looks almost brand new...so I was looking at some of the numbers on it.... And it a 4.11 ring gear  I can't wait to install it!!!! This years drif…

I am a long time lurker and finally i might get a Z. on ebay there is currently a 73 240z in san antonio. The car seems pretty solid except for two things; the car won’t rev over 4000 rpms, and the lack of pictures of any rust or the interior. The owner stated the floor pans need to be replaced but there are no pictures of it or any other rust spots on the vehicle. i know there has to be more rust on the car. I emailed the guy with several questions and a request for more pictures. my main question though, is why would the car not rev over 4000 rpms. He says "due to a fault in the ignition system the engine will not rev above 4000 rpms." I am definitely new to rest…

With me working on the car its hard wondering how this thing feels to drive. I find myself wondering how it is as far as speed and handling and how rough it is. Can someone please give me an idea of how it is to drive? Is there anything you can compare it to? I guess I will find out soon enough but I just want an idea so it gives me something to think about. Thanks

A while ago I posted about restoring my dads old 71 240z. Well currently the project isnt going anywhere with a lot of family stuff going on. I was thinking about it and I never plan on selling this car and it should be done right. So my dad talked to this mechanic and he is going to take out the engine and transmission and I am going to gut the rest. The mechanics dad owns a tranny place so he can take care of that part. Also, we are planning to have the car either sandblasted or soda blasted. Then, when the car is totally stripped its going to the body shop and they are going to take care of that. Everything will get fresh paint and most likely a rust proofing on the bo…
