I thought I'd post this as here in Northern Indiana any Z in a junkyard is rare, a 75 is unbelieveable. Blue w/white interior, cracked dash, rusty, 4 speed. The car is complete, minus the few small items I liberated. Bad news is this yard does not sell cars, only parts. Anyone that is interested in it's location PM me and I'll give you directions, it is close to Syracuse, IN.

A parts car my friend bought 12 yrs ago (a rollover) was given to me to strip . Over time someone went in his yard and stole the stereo and ingnition engine harness and FI parts without him ever knowing. Damn them. The int wiring harness looks untouched so I can copy it ,and some int panels were ok. I got the dash out today so tomorrow the steering column and lower harness/heater controls hopfully. It's sunk up to the rockers so it will take some work to get to the rack assembly. Not sure how much I can store but at least it won't go to the scrapyard.

Last night, my friend and I were headed down the highway, and at a light pulled next to a silver 350z. We were in his 72 with a L28 with raised compression, headers, KN intake and filters, and exhaust. The 350 didn't look like it wanted to give us any beef, but as usual, we launched the 240 pretty quick. The 350 actually gave chase. At the next light, he rolled down his window and asked us if the 240 was a turbo. I guess he was surprised at how quick it was. He asked if we wanted to go again, and of course we did. Who could resist? The old and the new, it was such a classic pairing. I'm proud to say that he did not pull a hair on us until the top of our third gear (the be…

Interesting day all around i'd say. A day off of work was a nice way to start. Being pulled over on the bike (ZX-9R Ninja) on the way for a haircut was a mid-morning disaster. After nearly being squashed by an SC400 who decided to run the corner way wide and into my lane , I accelerated past and out of harm's way onto the highway only to see the red and blues in the rear view. After hearing of my harrowing experience the Good Cop decided to let me off. I thanked him and was on my way. To hell in a hand basket. The evening started out with a ride to a friends and back. One block away from my house I make a split second decision to take that great corner …

Just thought I would start a security thread...Dr.Muffn got his rig stolen this last Saturday, and it would be a good thread to refresh everyone what to do to secure their z. I am not very good at mine; it is parked wedged between 2 big rigs (I plan on putting it in a garage). I currently use a club with the 4 key type lock, but on the original steering wheel, which I think anyone who really tried could just take off...I am going to be getting an aftermarket steering wheel, and try to find theft prevention screws to go along with my club. It helps to have a crappy looking interior/exterior as well. But hopefully that isn't going to be like that forever.

Well I picked up this book called Lust, Then Love: the story of the new Z by Rob Sessions at Barnes & Noble today. Great book, many pictures, great details, a good addition to my collection of Z trinkets. In the book is covers all generation Z's, from the first 240Z to the new 350Z and everything in-between. I got me wondering; What does a car have to have to be a real Z? It's more a badge and a marketing slogan than Nissan would want us to think it is. I know the first Z's recipe for success was a low price, good handling, modestly powerful (for the time), and a good dealership network that made them available. Plus, they were pure sports cars. No frills. So then …

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4547319405&category=6187&sspagename=WDVW I'm looking at purchasing this car. It's semi-local, and from what I can see, seems to be in good shape. I understand the issues with the 260 series, and would plan on swapping in a L28, which from what I've read is a pretty straightforward swap. The goal of this whole thing is daily driver/ part time auto-x (which I'm looking to get into, never had the car (f-150) for it before). What do you think of that car? And ideas on what I should offer? I was thinking 4500, cash. Am I an idiot? Should I go back to my original Miata idea? Or does it look wort…

(78 280z) Hey guys, im aquiring a 4.11 rear end, and a 5 speed transmission. I was wondering how much better will my acceleration be if i go from a 3 speed auto-3.54 rear end, 70 series tires. To a 5 speed-4.11 rear end, 60 series tire? Will it be noticeable? Thanks guys! Also, whats the average going price for a r-200 4.11 rear end? I dont wanna get ripped off.
