Im restoring a 71 240z and I cant wait until its done. What is it like to drive the car. Also, how fast is it and how much torque does it have. Is there any car you would compare it to?

I've seen this car for sale on eBay on and off for quite a few months now, and I'd like to know if there is a particular reason why it doesn't sell. It looks like something I'd be quite happy with. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4540279315&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

I've got a few things listed on eBay including 3.54 and 4.11 differentials, 240SX rear brake calipers and other bits. Do a search under my seller name, ezzzzzzz.

I have already had a discussion on whether I can afford a Z or not but now I need some help. I've been looking at a 75 280z about 50 minutes away from me. The car has a 4 spd, 92xxxx miles (think its a rebuild but I've seen it and its in good shape), completely redone interior everything brand new and brand new tires. Now the only thing stopping me from getting this car right now is a little bit of rust around the wheel well. Its not bad but I am afraid it will spread everywhere and Ill be left with a rusted piece of junk. The price of the car is 3600 obo (guy said he will negotiate.) What do you guys think, am I all worked up about nothing or is this going to be a serio…

I'm just letting folks know I've listed this dash on Ebay. Item number 4539206248. Several inquiries have been PM'd to me. This gives everyone a chance at it, if desired. It's not perfect but the opening price is right. NOTE: the photos show taken in 2000. That's incorrect. I took them on 3/27/05 but failed to correct the date on the digital camera.

Just got back from a local car show (mostly street rods and muscle cars-took a Top 30 plaque with the Rice Rocket!) and met a guy with a great Z story. Seems he bought a 70 240 brand new while on leave from 'Nam. Had to go back 8 mos. later, and sold it to a buddy. Fast forward to now; he and his son are in Cali. to look at an old truck project and decide to look up the old Army buddy. He finds the guy and goes to his home. THE OLD BUDDY STILL HAS THE Z, IN PERFECT CONDITION!!!!!!! He then sells it back to the original owner! The original owner drives it back to Florida, and is ready to get back into the Z community. Made my day. I will be going to see this car in the nea…

How can you tell if your Z is a US or a Japanese model? Is there any difference?

I've done the search with no results. Somewhere in the past I saw a list of VIN's as they apply to production dates and models but can't locate it now. I picked up a 240Z(?) rust bucket for $50 to strip parts off I know it's a 240Z because of the L24 indicated on the plate under the hood. It also has retractable lap belts but fixed shoulder belts. The VIN is HLS30-155955. Could someone tell me more? Just curious...

First off....let me say thanks to all the people involved in making this site as wicked as it is. I have not been a member here long, but in the short time that I have been stumbling thru....I have been genuinely impressed. I soon will start the restoration of a 1972 240Z, and am trying to absorb as much information as I can not only about the restoration process whether it be mechanical or body repairs, but also the differences within a particular model year (which may be few.....I don't know). What I am saying is, just surfing about the site I am hearing terms such as Fairlady, Samuri, L88 Head casting, etc...... and it makes me wonder just how many differences, if an…
