Alright Ya'll I'm flying out of DFW Saturday the 23rd. Supposed to get to John Wayne around noon. Then off to the "Garage sale". Still have to get a room, hopefully at the Disneyland Ramada. Coming back Sunday late afternoon. Anyone need a ride on Saturday or Sunday, let me know. Might as well use up the Enterprise Rental car, especially with petrol at $2.50 a gal. See 'ya there. DK

My aunt has a 1970 Datsun 240Z, VIN# HLS300073. The odometer reads 29022 miles, but I am not sure how accurate that is. Is this car worth anything or is it simply spare parts? It does run, but not very well. I was told there were only 300 1970 Z's produced?

I see alot of you talking about going fast. I was just wondering how fast, fast is to everyone? I personally love speed, my top was 189 mph in a Z06, might have gotten close to 200 but ran out of road. ohh well there is always another time to try!

Ive always loved z cars. Ive been looking at a 75 280z. I am just wondering in general if they are a reliable car. I know it can depend on if the car was well taken care of but I am asking in general. Is insurance expensive? Are there some specific things that can go wrong and cost alot? Would one be okay for a 16 year old as a daily driver? Id really appreciate some responses, Collin

OK, go ahead and laugh. Here's a REALLY stupid question. All you guys refer to our Z's as "Zed" What does that mean? Where does that come from?

I checked the CA DMV website to finally get a difinitive word about what cars are and are not smog exempt. http://www.dmv.ca.gov/vr/smogfaq.htm So it looks like you '75 280Z's are in luck, and '76 guys like me are stuck (even though the two years are almost identical). Any way to get around this? I know my car was MANUFACTURED in December of '75, but argh, this is frustrating. Comments? (Try to keep it non-political)

So i have been looking for an original 240z but havent come across one. I have however come across a '77 280z. From reading about them they seem to be basically the same besides the engines. the 240z has 150HP and a carb where as the '77 280z has 170hp and FI. From reading about the history of Zs they all claim that after the federal emissions regulations no Z matched the original. Well it seems the '77 with 20 more HP should be around the same performance of the original, i would think? or is the '77 that much heavier? how do these two vehicles compare? should i hold out for a 240z?
