All good things must end. I am retiring and moving out of country, so my project of 39 years is being sold on Bring a Trailor.com now. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1972-datsun-240z-137/ Check it out. I hope the Classic Z Club will help spread the work for me. Thanks

Identify the fluids in the bowl and win a prize. Speculate on how they came to be together and gain additional notoriety. Explain the reason the red stuff forms nice circles in the middle and a thin film around the edge for even more points.

I'm having low clicking speed from turn signal switch. Motorsport is currently out of the OEM clicker. Does anyone have this part for sale or is there an adequate replacement substitute. I'm trying to recall if Toyota part was also workable? 1971 240 Z.

There was a LOT of cross talk about original engines not being reinstalled in the Z Store cars and that a lot of the cars didn't, therefore, have engine #s that matched the numbers on the engine compartment ID plates. When talking about those cars it's important to remember that there were, in reality, 3 iterations. The first batch reused a lot of interior soft trim as Distinctive Industries were not on board the program yet, neither were the Banzai Motorworks reproduction ID plates. Both companies were onboard for the second batch which allowed any convenient engine # to appear on the engine compartment ID plate as they left Banzai without #s. The third batch benefited…

So, I got a new Delphi mechanical fuel pump, and finally installed it. Drove about 20 miles, and the car died. Checked every thing, and found that there was no fuel. I put the old fuel pump in, which has been in the car for years, and the car started up after the carbs got fuel. Checked the pump, and it looks identical to the GMB fuel pump, and the Delphi looks identical except for the Delphi written on it. I checked to see if there was any suction after removing it, and there was none. Just a heads up, kinda of a bummer........

I own 2 Z's, both purchased recently, so I am yet to be an expert. On the rear lower outer wheel well on both cars there is a screwed on panel that I think is in front of the gas tank (in other words the lower portion of the outer wheel well both have a panel that is put in place with screws). Coincidence? When I bought my first one, I thought it was to cover some rusted area but now I am thinking it is by design from new.....thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Tracking down a vacuum leak and I think it is coming from the emissions system. I am considering just deleting it completely. Is this seen as a negative mark for resale value?

I just picked up square, red "FUEL" warning light that fits in the square slot below the radio in the middle of the center console between the blue "REAR DEFOGGER" and the red "FASTEN SEAT BELTS" warning lights. I'm happy to be able to remove the blank plate I have in that spot and place that "FUEL" light. I realize that it will be redundant but I rather have the non-functional warning light than the blank plate. The question is: What model Z had that red "FUEL" light in that spot? I've looked at every picture I could of all the different Z center consoles and can't find one with that warning light.
