Ok, so im new here. Been looking around for a good forum to check this out and see whats up. From what i hear. The motor is new and tranny has been rebuilt. It's in need of a paint job(its orange ) and paint isnt in too good of shape. And the interior needs some work but nothing too bad. Original wheels, wipers, you name it...except the motor and tranny I have the chance to pick it up for 750. But i need to do some work on my 300zx and sell it first.

About 1 week ago I removed my engine and put it on an engine stand. The engine stand I was using was a run-of-the-mill 3 leg engine stand with mounting bracket. So the engine was mounted on it at all was well. I began to notice the front wheel on the stand was a little shoddy but it was ok. So today I rolling the whole unti to move it, and I must have hit a pebble or something, all the sudden the front wheel pivots to turn around. The sudden shift in the movement of the wheel caused the whole engine to begin to tip. I wanted to save it, but last week I had a plate and screws put in my left hand so it was in a cast, and there was no way I could save it with just my …

I had been looking for a quality shop to chrome my rear bumper. I have received estimates, from all parts of the country, ranging from $280 -$650 :surprised for all five parts. I decided to give a local shop the job. They come very highly recommeded by our local hot rod club. They gave me a price of $370. ($150 for the center section, $85 each for the ends, $25 each for the over-riders) I took the best of my two rear bumpers but the owner of the shop said that the price would be, for the most part, the same for any decent rear 240Z bumper, including removal of a few dents. He estimated $10. per hole if one were to want the rubber strip holes welded up prior to the chro…

I spent a few hours hunched over my computer looking for a speedo cable last night and found a great big fat zero. I am guessing I have the origianl 240 4 speed manual. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. And btw this site is the best I have found so far on the Z.

This model is on eBay at the moment. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=6917828816&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT I have not seen many of these, but the story about it is valid. These little gifts were given out for various occasions. Some Japanese dealers gave plated car / cigarette cases away as gifts for buying a Z. They are collected seriously in Japan and come in gold, silver, and bronze plating. Thought you model freaks out there would like to see some of these. I would love one.

The state of Calif is looking into taxing you by the miles driven insted of by the gallon of fuel. Now that the hi-breds are showing up more and more this is the serious proposal . What they are afraid of is that because of the hi mileage cars that they will loose the tax base . They are going to require a gps device on all cars that will be read each time the car is gased up at the pump and the cost will be calulated and must be paid at that time. Oregon is also looking hard at the same thing. BIG BROTHER WILL BE WATCHING YOU HOW FAR AND WHERE YOU DRIVE , HOW FAST ALSO . All these things and more is the proposal . Gary I am not making this up . It was on the evening new…

Sorry if this is in the wrong spot, I will also look at the classifieds... 1974 260Z for trade? It -- 1974 260Z for possible trade... I have a 1974 260Z, the engine is strong, is running the L28 block and a N42 ported and polished head. Running a Schneider aggressive cam, 6 in to 2 polished header, nissan flat-top "silver dollar" pistons (compression is somewhere 10 or 11:1). Just had the head gone thru. I am not sure if the crank is diesel or not, or if the engine has been stroked, has tons of power and was built in Texas. I did not have the engine built. I know that it was put together by a guy in Texas by the previous owner and he put around 5k into the motor. Is runn…
