Hello all, This is my first post. I have been reading articles on here for awhile now and think this is a wonderful site. I just bought my first Z a couple of weeks ago. It is a 1971 240 with an L6 engine. I was coming home tonight and lost most of my brakes. When I press on the pedal, even slightly, I hear a hiss. Also, the rpm shoots up about 500. I did a search and a couple others in the last four years have had the same problem. In their posts there are no solutions. Thanks for all replies!!! SavannahZ

As the note says above I am turning 36 on Sunday, so the wife thought it would be cool to have a party and a car show and invite a bunch of friends over with various collector cars and hang out. Why am I posting this here? Well, if you live close enough, you are welcome to come and hang out as well. I live in Enola, PA, 17025 at 6 Elm Drive. While I own 2 Z's, a 1973 and a 1995, most of the cars will be sixties and seventies musclecars but Z's are definately welcome as well. Do a Mapquest and see how far it is for you. If you are interested in coming please drop me an email at tolejniczak@comcast.net and let me know to expect you and make sure you have the directions. Th…

Just a few questions I wanna do some work on my 240z next couple of days. First thing is I'm going to be replacing the rear drums and getting the shoes relined. I was considering upgrading to the ZX discs but I've been told this mod is not worth while can anyone elaborate? The second thing I'm doing is replacing the front rotors with ZX vented units and putting a spacer in the caliper to allow for the bigger rotor. Does anyone have some cheap ZX vented upfront discs that haven't been machined below legal limit cheap? The third is the speedo cable snapped when i was down at Calper park raceway I don't wanna buy a second hand 1 and have it break on me again so does anyon…

Well I've been driving my RWD 210 around for a month or so (4-speed) and I must say I can't really tell the difference between that and all of the FWD cars I've driven. About the only thing I've noticed is that it sometimes jumps over speed bumps with a different feel from a FWD car, but I can't really explain it. What differences should I notice or feel, if any? Is it more obvious when a car with more power such as a Z? I only drove my Z for 1 day before ripping it apart so I have no experience there.

Hi all. Good to see everyone again, I've been settling into school and now have enough time to browse my beloved forums. Here's my latest question, and apologies if I didn't search thoroughly enough. I have a floor jack and jackstands (up to 21" on the stands), and wish to put the car as high as it can go. What is the safe, intelligent way to go about this? With suspension travel, the highest I can get the car is the absolute lowest setting on my stands, which allows me to see/reach a lot, but really not enough room to get under there on my creeper and have at it. Thanks in advance for the replies. Nate P.S. Home this weekend from Temple...the undercoating is being …

I am going to look at a motor and transmission Friday night. The guy on the phone knew nothing of the motor. The add actually read "nissian engine dual carburator transmission". So I belive him when he says that he knows little. I was looking in my Haynes and Chilton manuals, but they only show the info that I am able to get is size. I know I should know the diffrence between the carburators, from 70 - 73 but I'm still a little foggy. If any of you could help me out with a number range for each year if possible that would be great. I'll be sure to take some pictures to post to get the throbbing brain's opionon on the matter. Thanks
