Hey guys, i've got a 73 240Z and i've got a funny feeling that the dash is out of another car, maybe a '70? I looked at a '72 rust bucket 240Z yesterday that the guy said was absolutly stock and never mucked around with, and the gauges had the same font type just larger. Does anyone have pics of '70 '71 '72 and '73 240Z dashes so i can try and figure out whats been done to my car. I'd really like to get it as close to a factory '73 as possible. Cheers, any help in this is much appreciated. Gerard

Hey Im currently trying to ascertain in the speedo cable in my car is of correct type. I know for a fact that it has been changed out previously based on a receipt that I got with my car when I purchased it from the previous owner. Is anyone out there able to take a picture of their original speedo cable for their 240z, preferably if someone has a spare out of a car, or in the car, it would be appreciated. Thanks for any help. Regards Joseph

ACT NOW TO STOP THE CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS EXEMPTION REPEAL BILL! On Friday, August 27, the California Legislature approved a bill known as A.B. 2683. This bill would repeal the state`s current pro-hobbyist emissions-test exemption for vehicles 30 years old and older. It includes amendments that do not protect car collectors and is being opposed by SEMA and the major car organizations in California. This bill would require: * All vehicles with post-1975 model year insured as collector cars (driven only to parades and exhibitions), and at least 35-years old to continue in the Smog Check program for the life of the vehicle. * Revisions to the Smog Check testing regimen for th…

I have a 1972 240Z, am running a stock exhaust system on this. It's time for a replacement ! I don't want a custom exhaust , I want a simple stock. I have been everywhere, Midas, Monroe, NAPA, Autozone, to mention a few. It's always the same reply " no longer available " . Does anyone know of any suppliers that still cary them ?

Was lucky enough to pick up two big boxes of old Road & Tracks' the other day (mostly 50's 60's and early 70's) and ran accross this ad, while reading every single one!

i found a 240z , but it doesnt look like any other one i have ever seen. it has a different front bumper that looks like it is one piece with the hood and fenders, the back end is different, it has a spoiler, and the window is not a hatch window, but a small vertical window. and the tail lights are round instead of square. i am interested in buying it, but i want to know what i am buying first. any ideas??

hi guys. right now i am 16, a full year away from getting my liscence in New Jersey. but i have been into cars forever, and currently hold a position at Walter's Auto Body. Anyway. i am looking for a 1972-1977 240z, 260z, or 280z for my first car. Now bear with me as i don't know much about changes from year to year, but know the basics about them. I have always loved the body style and the fact that almost any engine can fit into the frame easily just makes me salivate more. However, my mom is very strict about money. She will not let me get a POS, or a piece of ....crap. as she calls it. So this would mean it would have to run very well, and almost no bodyrot or rust o…

yes, I did a search for "leaded gas" The majority of the discussions seemed to be held by our aussie brethren, many used something called optimax, most seemed to use 98 octane gas straight up, claiming they didn't need the substitutes. So what do people stateside use? What Octane? Do you add in the substitute lead or no? I thought the lead in the gas acted like a lubricant for the engine. If you ran unleaded gas in a engine not designed for it it would run to hot and break down? I just got my new "toy" , a '73 240z, and am trying to figure out what I need to do to take care of it.
