Was just wondering if any of you out there are able to get full coverage on your Z if so what have you done to get full coverage. I'm trying to convert my brother into a Z nut, but one main concern is insuraning the Z. I have liability, but don't know if you can get full coverage on it(at least my insurance company won't). Please help me out with this one guys. Thanks

zedfans I was about to refit the brake distribution valve on my 240z ( that is the valve which the master cylinder pipes go into and the front brake and rear brake pipes come out of, and is attached to the drivers side inner wing/fender) , and I find it is full of crystallized brake fluid residue. Can anyone tell me whether it is OK to take this apart and clean it or should I look for another one? thanks for any help Andrew

hi, i have 2 240z a 71 and a 73, the 71 has more rust but not much than the 73, i dont know wich one kep for parts, the 71 has better interior and electrical things that i dont like to fix . the 71 has a sunroof and i dont know if taht is good or bad or if they are a pain in the arse in winter when it rains, at first i planned to swap carbs and bumper (is the crome bumper what is the heavy part right????) and star taking out the parts that are made to pass emissions, or just leave the 71 and put some bondo on it what do you guys think??

$1300 for a 1973 240z? Whats good on it: no rust, straight frame, solid frame rails Engine runs well suspension is solid complete, unmolested not so good: auto tranny ( would swap anyway ) horrible paint... cracked scratched etc.... interrior is mostly destroyed.... would have to be replaced. 240z's are all over the map in cost. And I know this may be a hard question to answer without pics ( don't have any sorry ) but does 1300 seem like a reasonable number in this case? Thanks

Well I'm going to have to put the Z in storage for about 5 months. I'm looking for a list of things I should do such as unhooking the battery. Thanks all.

What makes the 260 and 280Z's so much heavier than the 240? And does the weight greatly affect the cars performance/handeling?

Has anyone got any experience cleaning the nuts. bolts, and screws from a Z in an ultrasonic cleaner. I have tried using a cheepie unit from Harbor Freight, and even though the unit will shred a piece of aluminum foil(a common test of an ultrasonic cleaner) the chewing is highly localized, and not uniform enough for thorough cleaning of small parts. If you have gotten satisfactory results, pass them along! Thanks, Will
