I was looking at this photo and the comments http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=10045&password=&sort=7&thecat=500 Bill says in the description its a 280Z wheel. and Inf says its a 240z wheel, which I agree with. But looking past the wheel, its also a 240z dash, 240z center console, and 240z door trims. they changed the dash for the 260z. So my questions: Did they change it back for the 280z (Unlikely) Is bills car actually a 240z and he mistakenly believes its a 280z(Bill's the only person that can answer that by checking the chassis numbers and id tags) Or did someone swap the interior out of a 240z and put it in a 280z. Check out th…

Does anybody know how to find out how many z's are still on the road (by the year)? In the US the DMV should have the numbers by registration but I don't know how to go about getting this info. Thanks, Dan

I apologise if this thread has been discussed b4. Wanted to know everyone's thought's on how many 2 Seater "body style" cars are left in the world. I have done some research on production numbers, and propose the following: If we assume 240/260/280Z cars are included, the time span is from 1969 - 1977 (correct me if i am wrong, as we didn't get 280Z cars in Australia). I have added up the production numbers, across all continents and have come up with a final figure of: 310,336 units: 2 Seater Coupe cars produced Question: How many do we think are left? Could 50% of these cars over 30+ years be destroyed/rusted etc.

Hi, Today I want to think about this with all of you here,I do not know right word for this, let me exprain first. I heard a story of "crashed or damaged 240Z in the export ship" during its way to the U.S.due to bad weather enroute, cars are jumping and dancing even it is tied down very very securely. Some cars are not suficiant to deliverly because exterior is so damaged, then what happen? The damaged car is sent back to japan!!It was happned in early 1970 I think. How about you? So,there could be an un-official "240Z outlet".There is a story may proof this,my friend Dr.Suzuki said he got his rear spoiler at somewhere in japan for free. That spoiler is europ version,it was not …

I'm looking to buy my first Z and recently spotted a '72 for sale with extra parts. I was curious if anyone could tell me how much those parts would go for if I bought the car. (Hopefully to defray the cost somewhat.) '72 240Z Engine Transmission Dual Carburetors Alternator Louvres -- and some other miscellaneous parts I saw a similar post for 2+2 parts, but no prices were actually mentioned, so I'm still up in the air on whether to go for this or not. Any advice at all or ballpark figures for those parts would be extremely helpful to me in making a decision.

When replacing the dog leg I found out the half the fender well was fabircated out of filler along with a large plug of it in the rocker panel. Not happy but o.k. i'll deal with it.Then went on to stripping the paint from the lock side of the door only to discover a hole (once the filler was removed). This one is going to take some thought to fix. Put that one aside and unpacked rear quarter patch panel to find it does not fit this car! Thought it best not to lift up carpets tonight. Called it a night and decided to check out some of the finished Z cars on the site. Thanks , just thought I'd share.

I should know this but why do the L series engines lean to one side (towards the spark plugs) ? I'm replying to an article in a magazine who amongst other things states that this was done to allow more access room for the carbs etc ! I can't believe this so....

This guy wanted $2000 negotiable. I have already mailed him $900 to hold the car. Was going to offer $1700. What do you think would be a good price for a car in this condition? (the interior is immaculate, passenger side floor has been replaced, frame rails are said to be in good condition)
