For those of you who are tired of trying to read the wiring diagrams in the FSM's and other so called "service manuals" there is a great solution. Keep a watch on Ebay for an S30 supplement chassis manual. These are the service manuals given to the Nissan techs, it's just a thin little book, but it has the best wiring diagram I've ever seen. It is in a fold out in the back of the manual, and it is poster sized, 16x19 inches. Even Mr. Magoo could read it. It has also got some nice wiring diagrams of the dash and engine harness with easy to read schematics as to which color wire is in each of the connectors in the harness. There is also a good diagram of the complete heat…

When I bought my 260 2+2 parts car the prev owners couldn't find the key for the hatch. Now what I am wondering is how can I open it? If I have to destroy the lock in the process so be it, now good without a key is it. Just had a somewhat obvious idea. Get a locksmith out! :stupid: Any other ideas? Ways I can do it myself?

Hi All, I have a '71 240z with an L28 and 240z Su's in it. I have ordered the FSM for the body and chassis but I am unsure which manual would be best for the engine. Am I best off getting the manual for the L28, or are the engines that close it wouldnt matter, and the 240Z manual would be better for the carbs and other associated bits?? Any opinions would be much appreciated Thanks Again.

It seems to me that we're getting a lot of posts lately related to the 280ZX. Does anyone know of a club, webpage, etc. that covers these cars? It would be nice to be able to point people in the right direction without being too rude.

I tried to ask for the "240Z-club discount" when ordering from Courtesy Nissan, and the guy told me there's no discounts- everything is already priced for online buyers. OTC buyers pay 15% more. So don't bother asking for a club discount.

Hey guys, just want to vent a little. I had JUST bought my '72 240Z from a private seller this past Monday. Got a great deal on this car...it has 90K miles on it, has had only one owner, and it runs like a top. Well, this tuesday, not ONE day after I bought the damn car....this old broad in a minivan backs out of a parking space at 50-friggin MPH (exaggeration) and smashes into the front end!!! Mind you, I am only going with the flow of traffic in this parking lot, minding my own business. now...there are pieces of 240z all over the parking lot. So...here I am, with NO insurance on it yet...NO registration on it yet... ...and now they're telling me her insurance company…

Howdy, Not too long ago I acquired a 260Z 2+2 parts car, most of which is quite original. I'd put it up in the Aussie section but haven't had too much interest. Now what I was wondering, is what parts are worth a reasonable amount, enough that it's worth selling them to other countries for example. Maybe even chucking them on eBay. Eg, I had a quick look around at the prices of tail lights and it seems they fetch quite a decent amount. I'm not looking to make a killing off it, but I could use the extra $ as I'm a poor uni student. Anything worth while?

Hey guys, can anyone tell me if there is any value in an original shop manual and an owners manual for a 70 240Z? I also found a workshop manual (book) from Autobooks and authored by Kenneth Ball for the 70 thru 73 240Z's. This is a 30 year old edition. Is it worth keeping? Thanks for any info.

Hi Guy's Because I got such good feedback from my last question regards 240z radio's, I'll push my luck and ask another. My last 240z which was a 1972 car had seatbelts with chrome buckles with Datsun written in red lettering across the buckle (from memory) Another car I owned had belts with chrome buckles with just the letter Z on the release button, can anyone please advise if either of these was from a 1970 car, if it was'nt either of these please advise what is correct. As you may have guessed I am trying to get my car back to as close to original as possible and need to know exactly what to look for. Thanks for any help given. Regards Lee

when I move the leater control lever, it doesn't 'click' into the different positions. I think there's a spring-loaded ball that is supposed to click into some detents in the control frame, right? Mine must be missing. Can you get those & put them in, or do you have to get the whole control system? Maybe bodge a spring-thing in there? thx

Has anyone on our forum installed the rear panel replacement speaker box like the one MSA sells? If so, what do you think about it? My last set was the MTX "RoadThunder" Full range 8'' boxes. They are now owed by the stinking theives who stole the car last January :tapemouth. They sounded excellent really, well, better if I cut the base a point or two. With 8'' cones and mid range horns, they sure could take the power and still sound crisp at higher volumes. Their only draw back is they were so big, and, I never found a way to anchor them down neatly (I used the luggage straps). I toured the audio shop today, and saw a set of Sony "Exploid" 6X9's rated 400 watts peak and …
