I went on the web site that is advertising that Green 240Z which was recently uploaded. Nice car. They're asking $18,000 and it's from a private collection. The web address is CarPoint.com.au. To bad it's not in the states, as it appears to be a very nice Z. Cars that are for sale from private collections are usually the ones to check out. I have a few friends that have purchased cars from private collections and they have turned out to be well worth the money.

hey guys. some of you probably might remember me. i've been posting off-and-on for about a year now. the saga started with a friend who had a '72 that she let sit for about 5 years before she decided to get it running again. she asked me for help, which of course, i accepted (just because i'm the stunningly nice guy that i am! ). anyway, we got the car running but she ended up using it as a trade-in on a new hyundai. oh well. so a couple months ago i went out to her parents house one day after a track event and her dad was very interested in the whole race track experience. so the next day i go out at lunch time and pick him up, take him to the track and get him …

Hi Eveyone! I'm presently shopping for a bodyshop to do some bodywork(, obviously). What I want to know is, how much can i expect to pay for (major)repairs on floor pans, rails, some minor rust around sunroof and rear window with a good paint job? Btw, look at the link for what i want the color to look like, and in my gallery to see the actual car. If someone knows a good shop, I live in quebec city, Qc, Canada thx to everyone. J.P.

Hi guys and gals, Question for you this evening. So the in-laws to be are looking for a first car for their youngest (16) daughter who's just passed her driver's license. First she was looking at early 80s Mercedes 560SL: too expensive Then she was looking at early to mid 70s BMW 2002s: I said bad idea in case it breaks down and you have to pay $$$ for BMW parts Then she was enamored with a mid 60s Ford Falcon sedan: I said sure (easy mechanicals, cheap parts, etc) Now apparently they are looking at an '83 280ZX The catch is she only wants an automatic car. The budget is not to exceed $3500.- She refuses the sensible choice: a Honda - we tried, it was my first car after a…

I recently got a 240Z that has been in storage since the early 90's. I'm working on getting it back on the road. I'm very happy and it's a nice car. The old owner claimed the car is a 1970 1/2 model year. Could this be true? What year is it? The manufacture date is 7/70. The VIN is HLS30-07736 Is there anything that explains how to read the VIN? Thanks

Unfortunately I am going to have to move my Z out of the garage and into the driveway. I think I need to get a cover for it. Since I live in the north, it will get snowed on. Does anyone have any suggestions on which brands and/or types would be the best get? Thanks.

My radiator is leaking and I am looking for a new one. The dealer wants many $$$ for this so I looked on the internet and found a place called team radiator. They have a replacement for $127 with free shipping. This looks pretty good -- maybe too good. Has anyone had experience with these guys or any aftermarket radiator they would recommend? Any perils to avoid with one of these non-OEM radiators?

I saw dhayes5 post on his radiator and was reminded of what I experienced on my 72 240. It has already been 10 years ago but my temp guage would creep up to the hot range when pushing it on the highway. It would start between 60 and 65 and creep up the faster I went. In slow traffic on even a hot day the car was always in the normal range. That did not make sense so I was thinking I was having a waterpump problem at higher speeds. I did have small seepage on the top radiator tank for a while. I had seen many Z's with same leak. I decided to take tank in to a shop for repair. He called me and said their flow test showed a calulated 65% blockage. The core was shot! I am gl…

We have a fellow Z owner who has been attempting to find out some HS130 production information. Here is his original post from zcar.com Author: g8wayz (---.dsl.stlsmo.swbell.net) Date: Nov 17, 4:45pm I've talked to 4 different people at Nissan Customer service over the past couple weeks and here's what they have found. First, they had to go to an archive database since it was before 1984. Production date 7/25/83 ( at Nissha- Hiratsuka) Shipped to Seattle 7/29/83 Arrived in Seattle 8/31/83 ( it took a month to get here?? no wonder they came over here w/ rust on them!) Ordered by dealer in St.L on 8/16/83 Transferred to another dealer in St.L on 9/2/83 Sold to original o…

All too often we hear the tales of deals gone sour, but I want to recommend someone here for a change. A week ago Darren (dhayes5) posted about switching out his Eibach springs for something more stock, a PM or two and some emails later we swapped his Eibachs for my Euros. We live states away, never talked on the phone and have never met. Well his springs arrived today as decribed, I was a day late in shipping but they are on the way to him. A good deal gone good! Thanks Darren, and my highest regards for him if anyone needs to deal with him in the future. It's a good feeling to know that with some people at least their word is their bond, an email handshake so to say!

So some of you have seen that I am trying to see if I can sell my 260 project. I have posted it here as well as Zcar.com. I keep getting emails from people stating they want to buy my car. Their sentence structure and spelling is way off from the english language and to boot, the person emailing me never asks specifics really on the condition of the project...only that they are def going to buy it. Now, the person wants my address information so that they can send me a certified cashiers check (from a third pary mind you). The cashiers check they state is for the purchase price of the vehicle and that they have already made arrangements with a shipping company to come …

An odd question here, excuse my ignorance. I notice in alot of sigs I see people list thier VIN numbers. Some say HLS30 and some say HS30. I am assuming (you know what they say about assuming) that there is no difference, just a letter ommited. How far off base am I? :stupid:
