My '72 Z is having problems staying cool with the original 2-row radiator (common problem). Anyway, instead of paying $245 + $30 shipping to have a heavy duty 4-row sent to me from Motorsport, I was wondering if anyone has adapted any other 4-row that was never orginally made for the 240s, but fit nicely anyway. (Sort of like the ol' Toyota 4x4 rear brake conversion)

Hey I was curious if any body knows what a acid bath is. I heard of it online. I am not sure if that is the name though. I heard that you can wash the inside of rusty takes with an acid to get the rust out. Does any body know what I am talking about and how to do it? Frankenstein Z

I have a 70 240 which has glass in the rear hatch without demister strips, the other 70 240 that I had was the same and so is the car of a friend of mine. At what point did they start to fit demister strips or is this just an Australian thing? The hatch has it's original glass with nissan info stamped into the bottom corner. The rear of the centre consul also has the cut outs for the demister switch but no button. I don't need to replace the glass or anything, just looking to increase my knowledge of my particular car. Regards Lee

Hi, Hope you all had a nice Easter! I have a question. How much should a person expect to spend to fully equip a shop? I mean totally from scratch. I know that a good air compressor will probably cost about 6 to 8 hundred. How much will a good sand-blaster and all that stuff cost and what all do you have to have? Thanks, Bonnie

Hiya fellas, I'm comtemplating on draining the old gas from the tank since the car had been sitting for couple years. However, my dilemma is that I'm not sure how much gas is left in the tank because the fuel gauge doesn't work anymore! I suppose I can fill up couple 5gal buckets with the drained gas but what can I do with it afterwards? I don't have a part washer bin and can't simply dump it somewhere carelessly. What did you do with the old gas you drained? Regards, -Guycali

Just read this old article on smartmoney.com on the 350Z, I know it's not everybody's cup of tea but this guy seem to really like it. I have yet to see one in the flesh, nor spoken to anyone who owns one, so I am still a bit undecided as to whether I like it or not... I think I would have preferred a more retro looking, 240Z like machine.. This article is a bit old so its rather interesting having hindsight on a few things... Z-ing Is Believing By Paul Ingrassia November 12, 2002 TO Z OR NOT TO Z? If that is the question, the answer is a resounding yes. While Nissan's new 350Z sports coupe — the fifth generation of the fabled "Z-car" — might be outgunned in one cha…

In reponse to a question in an adjacent thread, here is my experience with storing a car: I stored a 1969 GTS Monaro for 7 years and did the following: 1. Filled the fueltank until I could see fuel almost at the filler cap. Try to minimise the airspace in the fuel tank. 2. Disconnected and remove the battery 2. Inflated the tyres to 50psi 3. Drove the car into the garage where it was to be stored and removed the aircleaner. With the engine still idling, slowly dribbled engine oil into the carburettor until the engine eventually stalled. The theory was that if the plugs were too oiled to spark then the cylinders themselved would be well oiled. 4. While still hot, rep…

Trying to find a radiator shroud for a 1973 240z. I believe I may have been burned on Ebay when I purchased one that said it was for 240z. When I tried to attach it, it would only fit if I forced it against the lower radiator hose enough to partially collapse the hose. The top of the shroud also is too tight against the curved metal flange(guard?) at the top of the radiator. Purchased the car without a shroud, so I don't really know what the proper shroud would look like. There is always the possibility the PO changed the radiator(I wouldn't be able to tell if he did anyway). The shroud from Ebay is two piece, with the bottom piece being significantly smaller than …

I'm in a research mode right now....... and have stumbled upon confussion (it's easy for me to do that). What was the cut off date for the 240Z going from 1970 to 1971? I was under the impression that the rear hatch vents were only on the 1970 model. The old man has a 240Z that has a manufacture date 0f 10/70 which, in the auto industry means 1971 (thats something else I don't get) but it has the vents. It is titled as a 1971 but seeing how he was the 3rd owner I could see the mix up. Dwight:ermm: :ermm:

I am about to buy my first Z car and I have a couple questions. I am buying a 1971 240Z which was built in 7/71. This car has been sitting under a car port for the last five years. It was running when it was parked but has not been started since. I need to look a little bit more for rust but so far I have not seen any, I think this car has spent it's life in California away from the salty ocean air. The body is in great condition and the interioris decent, I will have to do something about the dash. My question is this... Besides the obvious things like making sure fluids are completely drianed and new ones put it, new plugs, wires etc., is there anything that I sho…
