Hey, I’m on a work trip in Southern California and was searching the classifieds and stumbled on a set of headers for sale. Guy wants $100. He’s parting out his L28 for an engine swap. They look stainless but might be coated, can’t really tell. Not sure if it’s a good deal and I really can’t tell what kind they are. The look like either the Pacesetter or MSA 3-2. They have two O2 sensor bungs too. The add says N47/N42 engine setup but the pic shows round ports to me and exhaust liners but maybe I’m not seeing it right, $100 seems like a decent deal since the MSA ones are $369. BTW, was considering driving to MSA and picking up headers curbside and save on sh…

Hey everybody - it's been a while since I posted here. I am beginning a build on a 240 and I thought I'd chronicle the process on youtube. I'd sure appreciate it if you drop by and look at the first video - it'll be weeks before there's another. I just had surgery and I can't get to work for a bit. As with every YT guy, I'd also ask for your subscription. Thanks again! here's the link https://youtu.be/F9qK0DDeI2w It's a 72 240 that looks like a former drag car, considering the clues I've found along the way. It'll have a John Williams built L28, running "real" SU 2" carbs. Should be fun!

I can't see the gauges at night with the headlights on. The dash lights are really dim. The car has a mystery knob near my left knee - Dimmer? - Does nothing to make dash brighter I am planning to replace OEM bulbs with LED's. Do 240Z have dash light dimmers? Thanks, Jay aka 'ZDisease'

Hi, all. I'm new to the Z community, but apparently jumped in with both feet... My first Z car is in that narrow range of '73 240z that has the original flat top carbs. Bought this from the original owner a couple of weeks ago. My dilemma: As a newbie, do I try to sort out the flat top tuning and ongoing babysitting (as I've been told to expect), or do I opt for: Option 2: ZTherapy carbs conversion to their $1300 "bulletproof" modified round tops. Pricey but probably the best long term option to keep close to original. Option 3: Weber DGVs in the $800+ range. Heard very mixed things. As for me, I'm pretty handy, but never had to tune a carb bef…

Sounds like a personal problem, but yeah my dipstick on this '73 240z sits very, very loose and I'm pretty sure it leaks oil when running. Been wondering if the previous owner put in wrong dipstick. I found an old thread that says the part number should show E3002, which mine does. (pics) But, Zstore shows a 240z dipstick with P6502 stamped. Link Anyone dealt with a very loose E3002 dipstick?

Hello from Windsor, Ontario Canada I purchased a 1973 240z, pretty clean car in Monterey, Ca and need some work done before it can be transported home. The previous owner had the engine & tranny pulled to repair rust around the battery tray, then planned to paint the engine bay and car. I've owned a few Zs in the past and it's certainly to my advantage having someone who's very knowledgeable with these, not someone who cannot identify where some of the parts go. I'm looking for someone who has the ability and facilities to get the car operational, basic installation. In order for a transport company to ship it, it has to start, stop, and drive on & off a tra…

If you are one of the people who understand pictures better than words, this should finally bring clarity to an often mis-understood subject of electrical current flow. Another way to look at this, is that VOLTS Is your undeniable drive to buy car parts, OHM’s is your wife doing her best to slow the purchases, and YOU are the AMPS, trying your best to buy stuff anyway!

Here's something to lighten your day. Until I bought a second 1971 240Z and had the two of them side-by-side, I may not have spotted it. I know you more seasoned Zed Heads will get it.
