Hi All, I'm new to the forums and recently acquired a 280Z! I'm really excited about the car, but I did make the purchase with it not running. The interesting (and very bizarre) issue I'm having is that the engine refuses to start on it's own when it's cold. The weird part is that with a quick spray of starting fluid (3 sec), the car starts up and RUNS instantly and idles/revs using it's own EFI without problem. If I leave the engine idling for a couple minutes (not even up to op. temp.), then kill the engine, it will subsequently start on it's own without the need of starting fluid. It appears to only be cold starts where the car refuses to start on it's own. …

For the last few weeks every time I try to open the mobile app I get an "Invalid License" error message. It continues to say "This forum is currently not available on this app. Please contact the forum administrator." Is anyone else having this problem? Mike.

Finally got my F54/P79 engine in my garage. I’m going to start tearing it down for a complete rebuild to install in my 77z. Has 164k miles on it and is a guaranteed engine. Was a deal $408 out the door, no core. I might need some help as this happens so wanted to start a new thread for anyone wanting to guide me along. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have been looking for a set of original magnesium AR LeMans wheels, found and purchased a set this week along with an NOS JDM Grill. Excited and can't wait until they arrive.

Hi All, Open question to the group, looking for info on the cost of frame rail repair/replacement. I am considering purchasing a '73 240z, however during initial inspection I found that the back end of the frame rail on the driver's side is rusted / rotted out. It looks like it needs to be repaired or replaced. I am trying to factor the cost of fixing the frame rails into the value of the vehicle, but I really have no idea what it would cost. Should they just be repaired? Should they be replaced? If I fix one side, should I fix the other side? Input is requested and appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I’m considering putting a stealth antenna in my 240z. I have seen a few different ways of doing this but haven’t seen a conclusively recommended way of doing this. i was thinking of running a regular antenna along a frame rake under the car, maybe mounting something up inside the support near the rear hatch somewhere. Mountain one inside the rear hatch off the gas shock mount, or using one of those hidden antennas. However each of these poses a potential problem of interference or poor reception. Does anyone have experience in this area?

I recently had the pleasure of spending a few weeks in Japan on vacation. It was my first trip back there since the late 1980's, when I used to visit frequently on behalf of an employer that was in the business of providing design/build services for R&D-type automotive test facilities. On this long-awaited return visit, I stayed in the Osaka - Kyoto - Nagoya area ('Kansai' district), well to the west of Tokyo. I thought I'd post a few of the photos I took during my stay, since it was partly a 'car guy' itinerary and I got to visit and experience a few things that will probably be of interest to many of the CZCC members. I'll start with a few pix I took in the …

In the planning stage for paint on my car, I've been thinking about issues that I might address in the process. I recently asked a question about the viability of fiberglass fenders on a daily driver in hopes of eliminating the niggling little dents that seem to inevitably show up there. I'm going to stick with factory, steel fenders, as several here suggested. But another issue that seems to be a bit of a hassle (or is it just me?) is washing and waxing around all the high-rise emblems on these cars. I know the badges are part of what makes a 240-Z what it is. But what I was thinking is, what if those emblems were duplicated in a decal instead of a badge? Dumb idea?…

I'm looking for a leather fuel flap, thought I saw one with one of the vendors but can't find it. Looking to buy one if one is available before I try my hand at making my own.
