took a trip a last weekend, drove back Sunday thinking less traffic (not) down 75 starting at Tifton, 260 miles of rain later, had a tiny bit of wetness on the floor board, under the carpet right around the back large floor plug. Now I mean rain like get started on the Ark type rain. I can't imagine how many millions of gallons must have fallen, but 260 miles for about 6 hrs of non stop, cant see, afraid to pull over and become a sitting duck type rain. I finally bailed out at Ocala and took some side roads home (never venture south of Ocala on 75 if you can avoid it). anyway passenger side was completely dry, so I guess the cowl vent is in good shape. I did purchase…

Does anyone know how to tell the difference between a Nissan replacement S30 front fender verses an aftermarket front fender? With the exception of the tabco replacement rockers & wheel arches, etc, front aftermarket fenders always seemed to be black at least from the pictures. And the Nissans were grey. Other than that, I wouldn't know how to tell the difference. I realize it has been awhile since they made them. Any way to tell? Thanks

the judging rules seem to be adequately defined in the ZCCA Judging Manual for the cars, but there are no guidelines or protocols for the judges themselves. Something, like a Judge's section needs to be added to keep them in line. I can say that myself, because, over the years, at several shows utilizing the ZCCA rules, there were mistakes made by "judges" that were incorrect because they were basically just some guys pulled off the sidewalk at the last minute. One problem/mistake was by a judge who incorrectly tried to operate the vehicle, and deducted points because he didn't get the result he expected. Another was a judge who was not respectful of the car and deduct…

Hello All, So I recently purchased a 1978 280z. This is my first Z and really my first old car in general. It has had a bunch of modifications to it already from a guy in California who is an apparent Z collector \ restorer. With that bein said I have ideas, dreams, etc to do with this car. Im moderately mechicanically savy and pretty decent in the electrical \ retrofitting and engineering fields. With that being said, the car does need some work but has most of the essentials. Im looking for some help, direction, known impediments or problems to let me know what i should expect to be up against with this project. It has had the following done so far... C…

I don't want this car as much as I do the garage space. I've taken some pictures but my batteries are dead now and charging so I'll put some more up tomorrow but help me figure out a fair price please. Car runs great, don't know the compression yet but I'll check it and post that too. It's been in storage for 6 months and I got used to walking around my garage without hitting rearview mirrors. Odometer shows 23 thousand and some change, I'd say it's 123 thousand judging by the rubber on the pedals. It has A/C installed but not working, heater core was bypassed when I bought it so I don't know what's up with that. It has had a shi**y respray, flaking o…

I have a complete 280z shop manual on 8.5x11 pages, directly copied from the service manual, including the wiring diagram. All pages are in 3 ring-bound notebooks. I also have the dealer parts fiche (each page) on 8.5x11 pages also ring-bound in 2 notebooks. Would those be worth anything to anyone? Shipping would be paid by the receiver. Was going to say 'just PM me' but don't see an option within this forum for PM's. Guess you may reply or email.

Gents, As we enjoy this Memorial Day weekend grilling burgers and sipping cold beverages with family in friends wherever you are I wanted to share the story of the sacrifice of one of my closest friends (we were friends for 18 years) who died on 14 Sep 2012 in Camp Bastion, Afghanistan. His name was LtCol Chris “Otis” Raible. He was the CO of a Marine Harrier squadron and died defending his Marines and aircraft from insurgents attacking on the fight line in Bastion. Many men and women have made similar sacrifices serving our country and without their willingness to lay down their lives for our Nation, our way of life would be far different that it is today.…

Hi all-so I am the owner of a '72 240z, which is a blast to drive, but ever since purchasing the car, it has been plagued by a particular issue that makes it supremely unpleasant: the smell of either unburned fuel, or exhaust, in the cabin. I am not at all new to old cars and their smell, and I can assure you this is not the typical "old car stink" from a non-cat exhaust system. this is BAD. if the windows are rolled up, i can only drive maybe 3-5 minutes before it's basically unbearable(headache levels of discomfort). I've had two exhaust shops check everything downstream of the exhaust header-it's completely tight. the car will stall out if you block off the exhau…
