Name: Datsun 240Z (1972) Date Added: 08 May 2010 - 05:28 AM Owner: Travel'n Man Short Description: This car was an eBay purchase from California in March 2007. I talked personally to the owner and he totally had me; hook - line - and sinker. I got wrapped up in the purchase emotionally and bought the car. It took a month to ship to me it was nothing that the previous owner described. There was extreme rust damage to the floor boards. It was not in "ready to paint" condition. The interior was in fair shape but not great shape - so - since I had possession of the car there was only one thing to do............create a budget and bring it back to its prime! This …

Name: Datsun 240Z (1971) Date Added: 23 September 2013 - 01:11 PM Owner: 240tom Short Description: I bought this car from its second owner in August 2013. It had been sitting outside since 1998. According to the person I bought this car from, it was the third 240Z titled in the State of Tennessee. He purchased it from the original owner, his college roommate, back in the early seventies. I had seen it down below his shop for a couple of years and finally got around to asking him about it, and he offered to sell it to me. My father owned a 240Z back in the early seventies and I have good memories of that car. View Vehicle

Previous owner had car at least 31 years. I bought car in 2008. Hello! New to this forum! My name is Oscar and I live in SoCal (I.E.) and have a crazy passion for cars! I work for a wheel company/manufacturer (ACE ALLOY WHEEL) and love what I do. I go to every event I can (free tickets yay) and get to see the most craziest builds. I had been thinking about getting a car that I would have a fun time driving and at the same time enjoy the build as progress grows. I just wanted something different that I rarely see at shows other than usual Honda/BMW. I wanted my car to be extra special and a neck breaker, and just 2 Sundays ago I went on Craigslist, and found me a beautiful 280z that was babied and really well taken care of inside and …

Hi there.. I am the new owner of this one :classic: I guess you recognize this car as forum member Arne`s former Z. The car is still on it`s way to Norway, but the container with the car is supposed to arrive in Oslo this weekend. Guess who`s exited! I am a long time car enthusiast and this is what i sold last autumn, 1969 Opel Commodore Coupe, these cars where newer exported to the US Had it for 6 years, but wanted to try something else. So i guess that the 240Z will be a very good choice. I`ll keep you posted (with more pic`s) as soon as the car arrives. Best Regards Terje

I just purchased an amazingly complete 78 280Z. The only thing I have found missing is one of the center caps on the hubcaps. Unfortunately the car has been sitting for 19 years and is quite rusty. I purchased it as a project car sooner than I expected. I am still finishing off a 68 Datsun 2000 Roadster that was abandoned and purchased in very rough shape with lots of parts missing or previously modified. Prior to that purchase I had little knowledge or appreciation for the early Datsun performance cars but quickly fell in love with this car. Slowly it is getting ready to be put back on the road after 15 years of having no official registration. It was purchased wi…

Just bought my second Datsun ! First was a '79 510 i inherited from my dad and I drove throughout high school. Now, twenty some years later, I have bought a 1971 240! I found it on CL in Washington. 907 color. Series 1. Built in 11/70. # 14143. Super stoked ! Only 1 spot of rust throughout the whole car on the rear drivers side QP. Does not run yet. PO put a Clifford intake with a 4 barrel carb on it. I'm going back to stock Hitachi's. They are in a box completely disassembled. Don't quite know what i'm doing, but I have rebuilt 70's motorcycle carbs before. They also removed all the emmissions control stuff. I heard that you don't have to put all that stuff back on ??? A…

Hello from Texas. . . I have always really liked Z's and had friends and family who had a few and was always impressed by them now have ended up with one myself. I built a few cars 69 z28, Firebirds more recently doing the c10 truck thing and coming to the end of a project happened upon this one, I think is a real gem. Sooo . . . What I have is a 1971 240Z with a fairly interesting story to me anyways So here we go . . . Was looking for parts and met up with a guy with a few cars and was told were “stored in the barn and not really touched since the 80'sâ€. In this part of the world can be good or bad, usually bad . . . rust, So I went to check them out ended up bu…

Hi Guys, I just inherited my dad's '72 240z and Im in the process of restoring it. First thing I need to do is have it registered for the year. Can you help me find where the chassis/body number is? I need to have it "stenciled" to complete my registration. As per the documents I have it should be NLS3002148. Thanks in advance Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi everyone, I'm starting a thread to document my progress and share my experiences in the caretaking of my '73 240Z. I don't remember the first time I saw an S30 Z-car, but I've been preoccupied if not obsessed with them for several years. After taking some advice from Carl Beck and taking into account 1) that any project takes me months longer than it should and 2) my limited mechanical and fabrication skills, I decided I should shop for a running Z in fair to good condition. I had resigned myself to the fact that I would have to travel cross country to find such a car when I found this one while perusing random Craigslist cities in Michigan. First to introduce the ca…
