Hi guys, Just wanted to post and say g'day from Melbourne Australia and say what a great site you guys have here. Ive read some articles on the forums from time to time and have found it so informative so thanks. So Ive just purchased a 240K Kenmeri skyline about a month ago but also own a 73 240z. I learned to drive in 260 2+2 when i was younger and sold her many years ago so when the opportunity came up to get back into a zed a year ago i jumped at it BUT in a 240s this time. After a bit of refreshing - new cylinder head, new wheels, interior and some exterior add ons this is how she turned out. Took a while but with the new head and triples on the L28 it ma…

Hi guys, I'm Mark. I'm from Pennsylvania, but I go to college in Maryland. I'm a sophomore in Computer Science. Through my dad, I've always been around cars. It feels like I grew up at a car show. He's spent his entire career in the auto industry as a dealer, and part of his dealership is a restoration shop. He also collects classic cars. I've always thought old cars looked cool, but I never quite "got it" until I learned to drive manual and he let me drive a 1970 Z/28 Camaro a few years ago, then it made sense. Since then I've really gotten into cars over the years. This past summer I worked in the restoration shop and fell even more in love with these cars. A few mo…

Well the other day I typed a long introduction. Sure enough, with my luck, the site was doing maintenance when I clicked 'post.' So here we go again (with a much shorter version). Hello everyone! My name is Justin and I live in Montana. Last year (Feb 15th, 2014) I bought my first Z. 84 300ZX GL. It has had some work done to it (full rebuild, decked heads, upgraded valvetrain, and a bigger exhaust) before I purchased it. It was a dimond in the rough. But it was right on the money for it's worth. Paint was mostly good, had some body rust (underneath the chassis is golden). The PO thought the fuel pump was out (and being $200+ for an OEM pump), he decided to sell it. Took …

I bought my car back in August last year and have been working on the motor all winter. Previously, I had been DD'ing a Civic Si and garaged a S2000. Sold both and bought a cheap Mazda3 so I could focus on building the Z. The plan is just to get it running reliably, then to focus on handling and interior. No performance add-ons aside from the header/exhaust thats been added. Possible motor swap way in the future.

Some years ago I purchased a headlight wiring kit (from Black Dragon I think) and I now have a bad relay. The relay in question is a SHORI S11-1A-C1-12. I have had no luck finding one of these or a replacement for it. Anyone out there know of a source for these?

Just wanted to say hi officially. On Friday I just bought my first Z! A 1971 240. Bought it from a friend at work who got it 2 years ago. The previous owner to that did an amazing job getting it restored. Looks new all over. Needs a few little odds and ends and one major one...a manual trans Future plans are coilovers, wheels (Rewinds or Rota RKR's), headlight covers, and the manual trans. Really have been enjoying it so far. I've wanted an orange 240z for as long as I can remember. Really happy about it. It joins a couple other Japanese icons in my garage...my 91 LoveFab turbo NSX and my 74 Kawasaki Z1 900. image by blodi, on Flickr image (1) by blodi, on Fli…

Hi all, I figured to post here before looking for more inputs, suggestions, experiences. Basically my track day project is almost to completion, and I'm excited to report upgrades, issues, misc set up comments. The year of tracking just begun, glad to jump on this site, been looking at other posts, nice community. Yes, I'm also on hybridz but hoping to get different views here. More details later but this car has an R32 RB26DETT with Z32 5 spd, Z31 R200, EMI/Eibach coilovers, Wilwood discs, 6-pt cage.....not done yet. Will be installing a better fuel cell system very soon as I'm really pushing for best safety. Current tune/baseline is mild, 8.7 lbs boost, 258whp o…

So it has been a few years since I have posted anything on this site because I was a few states away from my car. In those 2 years or so all I was able to do was research and collect a sizable amount of parts. Within the last few months I have moved closer to my car and now have the ability to work on it a little at a time. So as an update here is what I have been able to do over the last few months. I move the z into the garage and over a few days stripped it down to a bare shell.

Hi there, for a long time i wanted to have a 240z and those days i found one. normally i am working on english cars so i am quite new to the Z world. It has triple webbers a 3.1L and CR5 speed gearbox with r200 diff. suspension had been fully redone by the previous owner with sway bars front rear illuminas and a coilover conversion with camber plates. Front willwood brakes and the rear discs seem out of a 300zx. It has a motorsport sump from arizona z and some other bits and pieces. The interior looks quite tired with a missing carpet some broken plastic parts and worn out vinyl. Already placed some larger orders @ Motorsport Auto / Black Dragon and Arizoa Z. Curr…

Now I know alot of people hate 2+2's, I'm one of very few who like the lines of a 2+2, Anyway got the car last year. it came in from austrailia the year before, I drove it for a couple of months when I got it but became bored with it so decided to do some work. I dont a full l28 engine rebuild, with stage 4 cam, 6-1 header, and triple dellortos, and alot of bodywork, Although the car was rust free when I got it. How I got the car

Hello everyone! I just bought my dream car last week, a 1972 240z. I finally found a 'barn' car in moderate condition. And by barn I mean field, and by field I mean in the middle of a pasture for ten years. Rust wise, she has a few spots, most of them surface... except the pass front frame rail. That one sucks. The previous owner's kid bondo'd a large spoiler on the back, added flares and a pretty creative lower valance, but nothing else was touched and it's like a time capsule, albeit very dirty and overwhelmingly full of gas fumes. But I digress. The engine runs (beautifully) and is the original with 76k miles. Besides a sloppy shifter all the gears seem smooth. I'm s…
