Hi guys! :classic: Thought I'd make a thread about my Z project, as there's finally some progress. A couple of years ago, I bought this almost complete Z. (Se my introduction post here: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/thread40142.html) The previous owner, who imported this car from the US got tired of welding, and sold it to me for cheap. It came with all the parts in boxes, as well as a lot of new parts like complete poly bushes, rebuild parts etc. My original plan was to do a full nut and bolt restoration, but then we had a serious rainstorm, and my workshop was flooded. This was the road outside our house. To be honest, 20 cm (8 inches) of mud and water…

Hello from Georgia! I've been lurking on here a little while and finally joined. I'm impressed with the knowledge and the willingness to share by all of the members here and hope I can contribute in some small way as I have started an adventure with a 77' 280. I previously owned a 71' 240 in the late 70's and never really got over it, So I'm back in the saddle again and loving it. Started work on the 77 in May and it's coming along nicely with the engine running well and the suspension feeling more solid. Working on Rust issues now and hopefully resolved soon with new floor pans, Rails, and spare tire well. Glad to be here. GW

Hi everyone! I inherited my 1977 280z from my father-in-law two years ago and needless to say I am a big fan. I've been driving it for two years and I'm hoping to be drivingit for a lot longer. I'm hoping some of you out there may be able to help me out to keep it in top shape. Happy driving people!

Hi guys, Recently I purchased a modified 240Z. The car has tailored coilovers from K&W (fully adjustable), brake system upgrade with discs all around, Watanabe wheels, rebuild interior and few more. Ze overall condition is great. Ze car drives great. Thank you. ^this was a typical german introduction, correct but boring, haha. Just fooling around...:stupid: The Z is my first old school car in my collection. Until now I was collecting and driving mostly japanese cars from the 80s and 90s. There were (and still are) Hondas, Lexus, Nissan, but never a Toyota (don't know why cause they have some great cars too). And some french cars (no, they are not as bad as their reput…

So my car is partially apart, engine bay is clean, working on disassembly and clean, powdercoat of suspension components. My engine is getting there little by little. Should be a nice car when its done. I bought it, drove it a bit with the L28 that was installed with round top SU's. I just don't like it as much so i'm going with an L28ET and i'll keep the good L28 as a spare for when my other Z's L24 finally retires. I've got eibach springs, new struts, poly bushings all around, MSA sway bars ready. Should ride pretty good, this one has a 5 speed tranny too.

I'm new to the forum because a beautiful 280Z followed me home last weekend. While searching for info I found your wonderful community! I'm looking forward to many hours of research & tinkering to keep this lovely car purring. While I share a couple pictures I already have some questions that someone might answer for me. I noticed extra mounting holes where the data plate is located- might that indicate the plate was replaced with a reproduction?

Brief history: Originally purchased by first owner in 5/73 at McCrea Datsun in Eureka CA. Second owner purchased it in 1977, and has been in Dublin, CA until I bought it 2 months ago. The original motor (L24159443 - anyone have it?) was replaced about 80k miles ago, along with the transmission. It was stripped to bare metal, and got a fresh coat of paint (metallic green #113) in 1997. Here are some photos from the day I picked it up: In the last month, I've had a ton of work done at Sunrise - here's some before/after of part of the work: I'm planning on picking up my car this afternoon, so I'll have more photos and updates soon.
