Hi Everyone, I'm Mike from Dallas, TX. I'm an avid Z fan, although admittedly most of my knowledge is biased toward the newer Z33 and Z34 models. I'm here learn about the classics, tell a brief story and hopefully get some much needed help in locating a long lost Z. Here's my story: How It Started My first interest in Z cars began with the 350 back in 2003, and after a few test drives of different colors and trims I fell in love. Unfortunately living in Ohio at the time the possibility of snow and harsh winters prevented me from ever purchasing a Z; I couldn't afford to have a separate dedicated winter car. Fast forward to 2011, I finally had the opportunity to ge…

Lots of work into this Z. Low mileage 1977 L28, R200 and matching 5 spd from an '82 280z. The body, suspension, fuel system, brakes, half shafts, seats, all fully restored. I have an offer but not enough to sell. I'd like a 1970 year if I sell.

This is my build, I was originally working on it for a customer when his work van blew the engine. He traded me the car for installing the engine. Here is what I have accomplished so far and how I got the car. When it arrived The engine needed some tlc I replaced the Valve cover gasket, intake and exhaust gasket, water pump, thermostat. I also repaired the fuel injector connectors and the po installed new fuel injectors, I also install the torn boot between the MAF and throttle body. The true talent was completely removing the EGR from under the intake (wait before you complain) some time in the cars life the EGR port was filled with corrosion and was crack…

Hello everyone, I bought a 1981 280zx almost 2 years ago. It runs reasonably well. It burns a lot of oil, 1 qt per 260 miles, and none of the cylinders test above 100 psi (79 - 100). I've been a bit of a gear head my entire adult life with domestic cars and trucks and I look forward to learning about my 280zx. Obviously, it's time for me to rebuild the motor. A semi-local Z shop knows this car well and states (rather emphatically) that this car has at least 475,000 original miles on the motor. Is this even possible? 5 speed trans shifts too nice to be original, but the rear end makes a constant wrrring sound, so it needs to be gone through as well. I have a ton…

Hi there ... Some of you will remember me - I sold my first 240Z over 10 years ago, but as many said, I knew I'd be back! I just picked up my car yesterday, shipped from the other side of Australia. It's had some nice work done, yet plenty of opportunity for fixing up and personalisation. First priority is to get it running well and roadworthy so it can be registered. I'll have to post a couple of threads in the HELP forums... I wonder who is still hanging around these parts from 10 years ago ... ?

not sure where to ask this but here goes, "purchased a 1982 280zx that had been parked in a garage for 14 years, great shape and after putting a new battery in it it started right up. After replacing a few fuel lines that were brittle and popped. the fuel pump stopped working. I dropped the tank had it cleaned and was able to clean and unstick the fuel pump. after putting everything back together the pump comes on and spins when the power is on but it wont pump? Is the pump bad or is there something in the system that is telling it not to pump? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Last spring I found a nice Datsun Skyline 1981. it has been owned by a car dealership until it had 40 000 km on the clock. Since then it belonged to a older gentleman, who kept it until he died. Now it has been driven about 115 000 km. It has aircon etc. and everything is working perfectly. It says Skyline 240GT on badge. it has a 2.4 injection engine and 3-speed auto. I wonder how many of these were made as LHD versions? Seems to be quite highly priced machines... The cheapest i saw was 15 000 euros in kuwait etc.. And one original not rebuild on mobile asking over 30 000 euros..

I'm not really sure what I have planned for the car just enjoy driving it and looking into a few mods but nothing crazy. Really pump to be able to talk to people who have been working with these timeless machines for years and have the same love for them as I do.

Hi all Z lovers Finally i have bought a Datsun 240z! Ive been looking for one in 2 years, but those cars do not come around in Denmark very often. But I found one very close to where i live in Copenhagen and bought it. It had been imported (revently) from CA. It seems to be a good green survivor from 1971, with the handthrottle. But there is of course minor flaws I have to work with, i guess that is a very good part of the Z. It has to repaired and modified :classic: The car has the original L24 engine, and i 5 speed box installed, im not sure about the diff yet. The flaws that ive found so far is: 5 speed install the hard way (console is cut up). Big holes in drive…

Hey everybody! Local Chicago guy currently at Central Michigan, but will be back in the Chicagoland area come June. Now that I am moving back home I have been researching a good project car to occupy my time and narrowed it down to a S30 or older 911. Not knowing that my dad used to race S30's back in his day he has waxed poetically about the car to me recently and decided we would do a Father/Son build on one! Been doing a lot of reading to see what Z community would be great to join, and I've heard nothing but good things about Classic Zcar club so I look forward to sharing, learning and talking Z cars here!
