Hello everyone. Another Z car fan here. I current have a 72 240Z and a 93 300ZX and love them both. I have owned another 72 240Z and 260Z in the past. I have a bent front crossmember on my 72 240 and have found a 77 280Z in a local salvage yard. Can I swap these out? How big of a job am I looking at? Thanks

Hi everyone! I found this website today and thought it was a great place. I've been active on a couple 350Z forums for several years now (I think around 3), but the early Zs have always interested me. Hopefully I can buy an early 240Z soon, but I'm looking for now. I've got a lot of reading to do to catch up! A lot of good stuff here. Edit: I'm Al by the way. Living in Orlando right now, but might be moving up to DC/Baltimore soon.

I just thought I would take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Rondal and I live in Maiden NC. As the title states I live in a very small town that goes crazy for it's 1A football team. I work in Charlotte NC which is 37 miles away. I presently own a 1976 280Z that has fueling problems that are kicking my butt, a 1997 240SX SE with a boat load of bolt on mods and my wife drives a 2002 Crew Cab Frontier. I've owned Nissan/Datsuns since 1986 when I bought my first Z, a 1970 240. For you older guys from the south my dad worked for years with David Bell of Bell Racing that raced Z's in the early 80's. That pretty much covers it. Thanks.

I am in the process of getting a 78 280Z road worthy. I have done the interior in a black leather and it looks great. I notice that the cabin is a little leaky (water). I put a sunroof in it - maybe a mistake here in Florida, but I had one in my 72 240z and liked it. The engine just doesn't seem to be running right yet - it's like it isn't 'breathing' well. It seems sluggish when I think it should be accelerating faster - I'm not racing at lights or anything, but when I step out to pass, this baby should get right to it and it doesn't seem to have that zip I remember the 240Z having and I am expecting a little more from the 80. Any suggestions for getting more performance…

This is my first post since becoming a member, but I have spent countless hours reading and learning from all of your posts. Thank you. Tara and I live just west of Portland in Hillsboro, and we're both members of NorthWest Z car club. We courted in a highly modified 1972 240Z over 29 years ago, and we're still hooked on Z's. Tara wants a 1995-96, very low mileage, Z32 convertible with tilt steering to add to our Z stable. We currently own three 1971 240's. Two of them are series 1's, and the other is a series 2 parts car. One is undergoing a modified restoration - a few custom bodywork touches, F54 with triple Webers, mn47 head by Paul Ruschman, historic Electra…

Have owned a 76 280z for a couple of years and spent a couple of years prior to owning it helping my father inlaw modify it. It would be considered by most to be a POS but it has been a fun toy. We modified the log for a Dirrect mount Holley 350, got it jetted in and running great then adapted it for a Rochestor 2V. Again we got it jetted in and running great. Then we found a pair of SU carbs in the local junkyard and repeated the process. We also took a five speed trany out of a truck and cross bread it with the Zcar's four speed and now we have a five speed. That was a learning experience. The body is a little rough but it is a tough little car and fun to drive. R…

Hey folks. am excited to come across the site. I have had my 72 24oz for over 10 years. I got to drive on in 74 while in highschool ... so as you can imagine it became the car I always wanted. Great car but now I want to explore a few options such as a msd system. It has a 280 engine with electronic ignition now ... any suggestions? I will add a photo of the engine once I figure out how. I did upload a couple of pics but an not sure they are properly attached to this message.

Guess the color of my Z? Its a '72 and looks pretty nice. I have been checking the forums looking up information on v-8 conversions. The info I have found has not made my descision to convert my z any easier. I dig the sound of a pumped and well tuned L engine and the pull of a v-8. Anyway, I understand there is going to be a Datsun show this coming weekend in Blackhawk, Ca. I live on the peninsula and would like to drive up with some other Z's. Well let me know. Later:pirate:

Hey guys, I'm new to the club and am a 20yr old college student working on rebuilding my engine during this summer. I have a 78 280z 2+2 that needs some body work and paint but after all the mods and the rebuild is complete it should be mechanically strong. I purchased headers that don't have any smog attachments so i need to do something to modify my EGR valve. Should i just plug up the end that inserts into the old exhaust manifold, or should i remove everything?
