Wanted to introduce mysel a the "NFG". I've had my 1972 240 for over 8 years now. Bought it for $800 and it barely moved. I have replaced the engine (once), the trans(4X) the diff (2X) and all the suspension bushings, Illumina's, springs, bars,ets... cross drilled rotors, metal pads, Centerforce II clutch. I got my user name from a 6.125" rod 327 I was toying with. I have a 6 speed (almost in my hands!!) and a set of ported corvette L98 heads to go on a factory steel crank 355 ci small block chevy. Hopefully by the end of summer I will have the engine together and be ready for the winter to install the engine/trans combo. Car sits @ 2140lbs. with gas and oil, etc... Hopef…

Hi, Just discovered your forum with great expectations. It's a typical cold, grey Nova Scotia day outside but in my warm, heated garage sits my 83 280ZX. Currently the whole interior is out and I'm repairing rust damage to the floor. (First coat of Rust Bullet just went on). In my kitchen, behind a cupboard door is a very long list of things I need to do over the winter. Hopefully, you people will be able to give me good advice on how to solve problems as I go along and possibly I might be able to contribute some information too. Mark

I used to own a 72 240z that was raced by Paul Newman in a kinda celebrity race @ Limerock. Or, atleast that was the information that I got when I bought the car. The car was mildly modified & ran out of the Bob Sharp Garage. Unfortunatly, I sold the car & have been looking for years for the right car. I think that I found one in Maine of all places. She is a 1973 240z with 53,000 original miles. Dash is perfect, body is close, but has a two or three quarter size bubbles in the two year old paint. The owner put about three thousand dollars into new floor boards and some bottom work. We have settled on 7,800 bucks including a near complete parts car with a …

Hello all. As I was surfing the web on Z related sites, I came across this forum. It seems like it will be a good tool for my next project. A Z. I like to wrench on pretty much anything. Recently, I've done an Old school '65 VW Bug. Did the show thing with that and sold it to build a pro-street chopper. Thats done and now I'm bored. My wifeys "honey-do-list" is getting shorter and shorter, so I'll be needing something to fill the void. I'd really like to get my hands on a 280z, but we'll see what comes along when I'm ready to make a move. I'm looking forward to meeting the members here (and pick their brains a li'l)

Hi, i'm new to the website but not new to z cars. I have owned 4, well 3 drivers and 1 parts car. I am an auto technician from smithfield, VA. My first car was a 75 280z 2+2, then i bought a 78 280 for parts. I currently have 76 and 77 280z's. The 77 is the daily driver right now as the 76 is under construction. Anyway nice to meet all of you and look forward to seeing some really sweet Z's.

Hello, my name is John. I just got a 1977 280z. Not sure of the engine displacement, but it is the 6 with a 5 speed. It was disassembled for painting, then partially put back together. It seems to have a fuel related issue, but I posted that problem under Help. I've been wrenching my Sea Doo's for a number of years and buily Go kart racing engines for a long time before this. Can't wait to get to work finding good part soarces, and tweeking this thing. Just wanted to say hello. Anyone else from Indiana?

hello all. i just bought a 74 260 2 + 2 that i plan on fixing up and let my wife drive. i also own a 88 SS and my daughter owns a 90 na. the 260 has been sitting the last 20 years in a garage without being run. i have major issues to deal with i am sure. the car body is showing no rust on the exterior, and looks good underneath from what i could see. when i bought this, i had planned on having it running and repainted by early summer, but now i figure we have a good two or three year project on our hands, as time and cash allow. any advice on what to look at first, suggestions for best sources on parts, would be greatly appreciated.

Good Evening: I am looking for advice, information, pricing on a 1975 Datsun 280z that I am looking at for my niece. The car hasn't been driven in twelve (yep, 12) years!! Current mileage is around 40,000 miles. The car has been left outside, and it shows -- rust on lower doors, seats cracked when I placed my hands on them, carpets are old moldy and disintegrating. When I looked under the hood, I saw the fuel injectors (I never knew 280z's had fuel injection back then, an a/c compressor with R-2 written on it (maybe it was R-12, but I didn't see the "1". The owner states his son drive it back from college when he graduated, and the car has sat there in his driveway ev…
