Just thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Armand and I live in South Carolina. I just bought a 74 260z. Its quite rusty and I'm debating whether to part it out or try to save it. Can anyone tell me (or link me) what the body differences were between the 240 and 260? I've spent a lot of time searching the internet for info on other cars, but I'm having difficulty finding Datsun info. I find this very odd considering their production numbers. Thanks Armand

Hi Everyone, My name is Rob and live in the UK. Now I've been after a Z for abosolutely ages, ever since I went for a spin in one a couple of years ago. Now I've spotted one on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DATSUN-240Z-BLUE_W0QQitemZ4603285536QQcategoryZ2192QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem But being a complete novice, I'm rather alarmed about the headlight issue. I rang the guy up and he mentioned that that the headlight container (?!) had rusted solidly and the garage he took it too didn't have the knowledge to replace it. Now not being clued up with the z, I was wondering whether any wise people could advise me on how hard a job this is. Apparently the headlight merely glows without …

Hey, new to the sight. I'm the proud owner of a 1971 240 Z I'm looking to replace the clutch on my Z. I purchased a Centerforce 2 clutch kit. Containing: Pressure plate , clutch , throwout bearing and aligning tool. I'm doing the job out of a CHILTON repair manual.:nervous: I didn't know if I should cut the flywheel or replace it? Any info would be extremely helpful..

I am pleased to join the long list of happy Z owners as of yesterday, 11/5! I made an impulsive decision to jump on a plane at the last second to fly from Phoenix to LA yesterday to look at a Z for sale. The owner was a nice guy who didn't have the time nor assets to invest in the car to get it up to good condition, so he put it on the market on Friday. It was a good deal financially but the most impressive part is the VIN number: HLS3001399!!!! I now own the 1,399 Z ever built, so cool! I am looking forward to getting it in primo shape and will look forward to gaining the insight of so many other Z enthusiasts. Long live the Z!!!

Hi I'm back in the Datsun love affair after a 28 yr breakup. Had a 71 in 76, it was great car but I was a kid and it almost did me in. I'm back at it again with a 77 280z, I was looking for a 71, but not much luck with out major bucks or major overhaul. Anyway, bought it on Ebay for a very reasonable price from California. The car looks great and is running with almost no rust - one small spot on the hood, original paint, still has original paper stickers under the hood. It looks good enough after a little compound that I don't think I'm even gonna paint it. Pinstripes bug me but underneath the paint is obviosly not sunfaded - pinstripes will have to stay. Anyway I …

Hello!! My name is Dennis and am presently restoring a 70 240Z with a build date of 4/70 Vin HLS30-03300. My racing partner and I have been active with the SCCA Road Racing since the early 90's. We raced a 71 240Z in ITS for several years and I have a shed full of parts that will surely help with the current project. This Z was going to be an E Prod car until we decided that it was too nice to chop up for a race car. I am glad that we saved her!!! We built the Miata for F Prod instead!!! The Z is stripped down to the tub and ready for the metal/bodywork to begin. I am sure that I will be needing everyone's help along the way. It's great to be part of such a large resource…

I'm just waiting for the right one! Hello people, My name is Damon, as you can see down there :cross-eye , Thought it might be rude of me to view these forums without at least saying hello. I spend most of my time at the Datsun owners club forums. So if anybody knows of a series 1 240Z going real cheap and in mint condition let me know :stupid: I know at some stage I'll end up asking a question, that has been answered many, many times before. If this happens feel free to mock, I would :lick:

Hi all.Im from New Zealand and have had a Zed and ZX fetish since i was 13. Ive owned a few ZX's over the last 10yrs or so,and love them.Always wanted a 240 or 260 but never had the money or was never jhonny on the spot when i did have it. Recently i met a nice guy through the NZ datsun site and he had a JDM 77 fairlady Z for sale(260z),i got it for a song i think. It has a G nose whic was a bonus. Im currently stripping it down for a good rust removal, which it has very little of,being a panelbeater/painter for near on 20yrs,im surprised:cross-eye This is the second JDM Fairlady Z ive owned, the other was a 79 with the ZX shape but the l20e engine, and this 77 is alot s…

Hello all, Well I would like to say thanks for all the help I have been getting so far and I thought I would introcude myself to the Classic Zcar Club. I have recently accuired a 1975 280z. The Z came from my uncle. He has owned it for as long as I can remeber and I think he got it when it was only 2 years old. The Z sat in the garage till about 1999 or so when my uncle and his daughter began to fix it up. He had the engine rebuilt and made it mechanicaly sound so that it could be daily driven and refreshed on the weekends. After a year the clutch went and the car sat in the garage till November of 2005. This is when at Thanksgiving dinner I was talking about how I wo…
