This is my first Z, its a 1975 280Z. Origainally the car was light blue, currently it has a really cheap blue matallic paint job that needs redoing. I bought the car about a month ago for $2000. I had to replace the clutch, replace the alternator and regulator, and i had to do plugs, cap, rotor, wires, and front break pads to try to take away the squeak which is still there. When i bought it there was a miss in the engine but only sometimes. While replacing the wires i found that 2 wires had been ripped out of the metal part that clips to the pulg and were just sitting on there. So i fixed that. My car need some work, struts ad tires first! i put a cheap stereo in it bu…

After a 7-year-long love affair with my '82 turbo she met an untimely death. She was a project car, and I had her about 75% restored. Needless to say, I'm heartbroken and I don't think I can live without a Z. Anybody know where there is a solid body with a running engine/tranny in the Southeast (GA, SC, NC)? Looking for 83 or before, don't much care for the 300's and up. Thanks to anyone who can help mend my broken heart... :disappoin

Hello, I lived with my aunt and uncle growing up and they had a 1983 280 zx turbo 2+2 bought new. It was my aunts daily driver and I was allowed to use it on special occasions, my proms, birthdays, etc. Long story short 20 years later they offered me the car so I went and picked it up last Sunday and I am fired up. It is in horrible shape however. It was parked four years ago when it started billowing white smoke. They said it was not making any funny sounds so I assume it was a head gasket, but after four years of sitting I'm concerned that rust may have formed on the cylanders or any number of other problems. I am ultimately going to rebuild and beef up the engin…

I just trailered home my newest project and my first Zcar. It's a 1983 280z with the 350 small block conversion. We've got a long way to go before she's done but it ought to be a fun ride... Glad to find you guys out here, I'm looking forward to picking your brains in the future.

I am a long-time admirer of the old 240Z and looking to acquire a 1970 first year model, with hopes of some appreciation. Any suggestions from you experienced Z owners on what to look for and stay away from? Thanks!

New to the site and just wish to say hello. My father in law just gave me a 1971 240z, original owner care that has been in the garage for 30 years. 24k original miles. No rust anywhere. Still smells new inside. I am starting a refresh job on it and begining with the brakes. Had to haul it to SoCal from Sacramento on a car carrier as the brakes were locked up. In my garage now, and I am looking forward to this new project, Found y'all on the web and will check in from time to time with questions and updates.

Hello I’ve been an admirer of the early Z cars since I was a kid. Finally looking into buying one of my own. Hoping I could seek out a little advise from the apparently well established community here at Classic Z Cars. Currently looking at a 1971 240Z that is close buy. I have studied up on what to look for but I’d still like to get some comments from the pros. I’ve posted all the pictures of my pending purchase to my member galley. I’d appreciate any advise or comments people may have that will help me verify the cars “original status. Also anything I should be aware of problem wise you may see on this particular or on the 240z model in general. I
