Greetings, I've been lurking around here for about a year now, enjoying the heck out of the information and banter. Since I recently picked up my first Z, I thought it would be a good time to say hello. I purchased a Z after looking into a replacement for my daily. An 88 Honda Accord is the unflavored oatmeal of the automotive world: It gets the job done without style or inspiration. So, I added reasonable fuel economy to the list of requirements and ended up making a choice I couldn't be happier with! She is a '71 from Arizona. With the exception of a paint job and some non-stock interior work, she's unmolested and original (obvious repair items aside). The Z is a new ex…

Hello I just purchased a 9/70 HLS30-10031 white 240z last weekend. She has a very thick stack of records from 1970-2003 with only 3 owners not including me. She has her origional white paint with no body damage other than door dings. NO RUST through spots and only minor surface rust where the paint has worn away. With only 130k with a numbers matching motor she will be a great resto/driver prodject. I had to tow her home due to the previous owner connecting a battery backwards. I get no spark but I am trying to figure out the electronic ignition and dist. set up now.

Hi, Folks!! Been lurking for awhile and now I finally have pics(see my gallery) of a 75 280Z I bought last December. Got a decent deal (or so I thought) for $700.00, but I'm beginning to think otherwise Car seems in relative good shape as the engine was rebuilt shortly before it was put into storage for 8 years. Sent the triple Webers to BFIC in Cali for a rebuild and the car started right up and settled into a 1000rpm idle(?). Clutch was locked up from the disc being frozen to the flywheel but it came apart nicely and I was able to re-use it. Good thing because apparently it's a centerforce :classic: As you can see from the photos the floors are in sad shape and…

Part of the route I travel to work each day is along a four lane divided highway which has a well positioned stop light and a straight stretch of road. One morning last week I was approaching the light in the left lane when it turned red. A late 60's Chevelle SS was in the right lane and he decided to pull into the left lane in front of me just before the intersection. Of course I moved into the right lane and approached the light. As I slowed I noticed that the Chevelle SS was in really nice shape. It was painted arrest-me-red with two white racing stripes and a vanity plate which read "2 FAST". I pulled to a stop and looked over. It was on. When the light turned …

Hi, all. I've been hanging out and posting here for a few months now, but since I now do own a Z, thought it was time to go public. I live in Oregon, about 40 miles South of Mike, and 110 miles South of Gary (Beandip). Corresponded with both of them prior to my recent purchase. I now own a Series I 240Z, HLS30-12746. I won't go into detail here, because I am blogging my progress at the site linked in my signature. Don't expect a how-to site with lots of pictures as everything unfolds, because I can't be bothered to wash up to grab the camera when I'm working on the car. But if you wish, follow along as I make slow headway.

Hey everyone, I'm new to the Z picture.. Actually decently new to the entire car picture in general. I recently bought my 73 240Z this summer. Since then I've became really attached to her. I love to work on cars but dont have much experience and would love to learn as much as I possibly can. So you'll all definatly get bored of explaining things to me.

Greetings, I am new to the "Club" but have been a Z owner for 11 years. I live in Abita Springs, Louisiana (45 miles north of New Orleans). Only 1 of those 11 years, i actually drove my car. The saga involved 2 crooked restoration shops; a '71 automatic I bought from my sister; a '72 supposedly restored & slightly modified that was actually a bondo bucket; and a very slow, but apparently honest bodyman that has both my cars in New Orleans. When i called him after Katrina hit, he said "Oh, Troy, the guy who owns 2 Japanese submarines  . Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the 1982 ZX rust bucket with solid engine and tranny I bought and took delivery of 2 days bef…

Hi all, This is a great site and thanks to the mods for all the great work. My first date with a Z was in '82 with the purchase of a early '74 260. It was in excellent shape and I added goodies like triple mikunis, shaved and ported the head, Monza exhaust and headers. It already had a kick tail, airdam, etc. I owned it for several years and decided I wanted a V8 conversion Z. So I sold my "My Precious" to a father that was buying it for his 17 yr old daughter Anyhow, there was one that I happened on (V8 Z) and, by this time having some knowledge of Z's and rust I should have looked a whole lot more carefully........ But, I was blinded by the power It had a worked o…

Hello everyone! I struggling to find a 280z for sale in the Southeast. I'm hoping it can be (or will be) a daily driver. I've completed my American muslce phase with a 66 Mustang, and am now leaving my off road phase with an 84 Jeep Scrambler. All I have to do now is find a z car and explain it to my wife! Help in either arena would be greatly appreciated!!! Ralph

Hi, My daughter just bought a '76 2+2 with an automatic transmission. So far we have only replaced the exhaust system from the resonator back, and I have purchased a new radiator because the original one is leaking in a couple of places. The day we drove it home, though the turn signals quit working. I bought and installed a new flasher, but that didn't solve the problem. Does anyone have any ideas of where to look next? I have a couple of spare turn signal switch assemblies that came with the car, but i'd like to make sure before I tear apart the column. By the way, the car also came with a brand new ground effects kit from Motorsport Industries (Part Number 50-…
