I've always loved the look of the Z cars but until now I have not been able to find one for a decent price in any form of good condition, always rusted out and bondo'd up.. until now. i picked up my 1977 datsun 280z for $4850 and it came with: RB25det skyline engine, engine hoist, swap mounts, oil pan conversion kit, fuel pump, intercooler kit, throttle cable, and converted wiring harness, and full body kit. pretty much almost everything i will need to do the swap except the ECU, drive shaft, forward facing intake manifold, and a couple odds and ends.

Just thought I'd say hi and post alittle about myself. My name is Jake, I own a small 1 and a half man welding/fab/mechanic shop that specializes in agricultural, construction equipment, the occasional roll cage and whatever else pays in Elk Grove, near Sacramento CA. I came upon my Z as part of a trade for some off road parts. I'm an off roader at heart, but I'm quickly falling in love with my little Z as is my wife, in fact I think it's the first thing I've drug home that she's actually liked. As I said in my other post in the electrical forum, it appears my Z was well loved. I've been around cars, trucks and heavy equipment all my life, and this thing seems very origin…

Hello Z enthusiasts. I'm just starting to plot my mid-life-crisis (which is a few years off yet) but thought I should start learning as much as I can now. about these cars that really hold my attention. Are there any other Iowans here? I'm hoping to find an early 240z someday. Just wanted to say hello. Peace, Scott

Hi, I just wanted to show everyone my newest find. My good friend Roger Williams had these stored away for years, and was kind enough to let me have them for my 72 240 that I am currently restoring. Thats a good friend for sure! Richard.

It's been a while several years to be exact but I am back and ready to take up where I left off restoring my cars.I have been real sick and have not been able to do anything to my cars.I did manage to restore a 64 chevy shortbed but that is because this is what I drive. I have been trying to find some z car enthusiast in my area.I live southeast of Atlanta and I occasionally run into a z car but they are rare. It's 2 hrs to where the Georgia z club meets so I hope some members are closer. If so contact me to swap parts and stories.I have 5 z's and a lot more parts.Any glad to be back and will post som…

Just want to say hello and look forward to being a part of this site, I've been looking for a rust-free or I should rephrase that to little rust Z car. 240z is my 1st choice but a 260z would do as well. Never had a sports car before, been into motorcycles all my life, currently have a 2004 Triumph Speed Triple, but I've always loved the look of the 240z, Cheers Pea

Hello all, My name is Jay. I am an Active Duty soldier of 13 years now. I have recently acquired a new to me 1971 240Z. I have wanted one since I was a teenager and have finally landed one thanks to a good friend of mine who is entirely too swamped with project cars. The ole girl is fairly clean, has all her trim and pieces but needs body work. Luckily I have time and a little bit of knowledge so I will be doing my best to bring her back to life. Here are a few shots of her. I have some plans as far as paint and such goes, nothing crazy. I am looking forward to learning a lot on here. Thanks Ladies and Gents.

Hello all! I joined here, as the Datsun bug, which has always been there, has gotten bigger now. I grew up with Datsuns. I was with my dad when his custom ordered '76 2+2 arrived at the local dealer, with the clear covers still over the seats, and was there when we brought it home, to see the low fuel light come on, and have to stop and get fuel! Car is MINT, beautiful, and a dear family friend still has her! I drove her daily for over 10 years. In high school, in addition to the Mazda 626 2-dr I drove, I used to rip around town in my brothers 1970 Datsun 1600 Roadster. My dad also had a fully restored 1970 2000 Roadster. My brothers have had early 1600 roadsters and…

Car I bought was originally a California car, got shipped to Minnesota, and now I've brought it back to Los Angeles. It's a 1971 (built in 1970 though) model. I have a lot of experience with newer cars, and used to race car semi-professionally (long story), but I have absolutely NO idea about older cars and carbs (what the heck is an SU ). needless to say, i have a lot to learn, and i've been reading the archives on this and other sites. Questions: 1) any recommended shops in the LA area? I see one in the Glendale area - are they any good? 2) when accelerating hard, there's a jerk. i see that the acceleration jerk is a known issue. 3) am i able to register the…
