Hello all! My name is Jakob, from southeastern Michigan. I bought my 1979 280zx a little over a year ago, with 30,054 original miles; it was stored 18 years. now it has around 41k. Here are some pictures... The splotch on the hood is a result of the crappy maaco paintjob the previous owner had. Passenger side damage, someone hit my car in the parking lot at work:( I get my rims tomorrow, and soon i get my performance strut tower bars, struts, and springs.

I had a white 71 240Z in the garage. It was in need of some work, but my dad and I were going to resotre it together. However, My parents decided that the car would be too risky for a young driver, I am 16, and I had to give it up. :sleepy: I am now looking at maybe getting a 300 ZX, but the 240 cant get out of my mind. I hope to someday get one, and complete that dream I had.

Hello everyone. My name is Adam. Just thought I'd give out a shout to all of you in Zland. About me: I live in Santa Cruz, CA. I'm a single father of a 13yo child and recently totaled a new motorcycle so I'm thinking of making a change. I'll soon be in the market for a 240Z so I wanted to learn all I could. I have wanted one of these cars since I was a wee little boy. Besides, I need something to tinker with to keep my sanity. I haven't even started looking around the forum but I think I found the right place. Cheers,

Last night I was driving the Z when I noticed a light coming from under the dash. It was light inside the cigarette lighter socket, I'd pulled my mobile phone charger out of it earlier. The light was kind of bugging me so I got the lighter coil bit and stuck it back in the socket thus eliminating the light. I guess I pushed it back in too far because I inadvertantly pushed the lighter into the on position. Imagine my surprise 30 seconds later when the newly heated lighter flicked back. Maybe the spring was too tight on the lighter or the clip was worn down, but either way the lighter flicked right out of its socket straight onto my left leg (I was wearing shorts, and my c…

Hey guys, I just joined and thought I'd add my car to the member's ride bit, funny that, I'm a member, I have a ride, wow. I have a navy blue 240Z that I purchased from a friend of a friend. Originally brought with blown head-gasket I drove it with the stock L24 and flat-top SUs ( ) until the SUs decided to develop a flatspot from between 1% and 80% throttle. Holding the throttle anywhere inbetween those two resulted in massive overfueling, a black plume of smoke three lanes wide on the freeway, half a rear muffler and a subsequent police detective motivated pull-over. After several trips to Ballarat going 100->110, clutch, roll, repeat, I sourced a supercharged …

Hi there. My name is Brian and I'm from Connecticut. I've been the owner of a modified early '71 240Z for about 8 or 9 years. I'm just new to internet club thing. My Z's been off the road for about 5 years due to an electical fire. After the fire, I kinda lost interest. The fire didn't do any body damage, just burned up the wiring harness. I had a buddy of mine install a Painless (yeah, right) Wiring kit and I just finished building a new motor which I installed today. I still have a lot to do. It's been hit twice while it's been sitting, so I also have body work to do. Loads of fun. I'll get picks up as soon as I can. Well, I'd just like to say hi and hopeful…

Hello. I am a boy from Norway, working on my first Z-car project. This is a -72 240Z imported from California, somewhere near San Fransisco. As you can see, I've got quite an amount of work to do before I hit the road:) This is how the car looked when I bought it, in january-05...

Hi All, Let me say Hi to everyone and I might as well get offside from the start, I don't own a Z car, not that I dislike them, it's just that I live in Sydney Australia and own something very rare and different. My car is a HR30 Paul Newman Version Skyline. It is very similar to your American M30 Nissan Infinity, but with an L series straight six. My HR30 is powered by an L20ET six cyl 2000cc SOHC very much the same identical configuration to all the Z cars prior to the 300. The reason I joined this forum is to gain knowledge of the L series 6 cylinder engine, primarily the L28 from the 280ZX turbo. I would like to know what availability of TURBO inlet manifolds are like…

Just wanted to introduce myself, my situation, and ask a few questions. I purchased my '72 240z back in 1986. I used it as my daily driver until about 1990 when I got into trucks. I did not intend to "store" the 240z so it was just parked in my parents garage and I intended to use it every so often. For several reasons (school, work, marriage, child) it sat in that exact spot for the past 15 years. My son, aged 12, now wants to fix that "old car" up and I figure it would be a good father/son project for us before he gets into high school. Our goal is to rebuild/fix whatever needs to be in order to return the 240z to daily driver type of reliability. My son will the…

Hi everyone, new member in North Carolina here. I must admit that I know very little about Z cars, I've been restoring MGB's for years. My wife owned a 1976 280Z as a teenager and has been lusting for another Z car for years. I'm going to buy her one for our 20th wedding anniversary and need some advice. She originally wanted a 240 but has found an early 1974 260 that she likes. I'm looking for a very nice car that needs little, I'm already in the middle of a restoration, and having a hard time finding a 240 that fits that description. She's found a really nice, low mileage, all original, 4 speed 260 in California. I've been doing some research on the internet and finding…

Hello. My name is Curtis Meeks and I am a new member from Hampton, Virginia. I was originally looking for a later 240Z or a 260Z to swap an L28ET into. I watched the ads in the local papers, and looked at a few, and then a couple of months ago I went to check one out that ended up being #HLS30 00439. It was under a tarp in a family's back yard. It had been the son's car until it 1st and 2nd gear stopped working. It was nowhere near original, except the motor and trans, but the price was pretty low, and I just could not let it sit there and rot, or get purchased as a parts car, so I called my buddy that owns a wrecker and took it home. The rust is pretty mild, just surfa…
