Sorry I joined in January I believe, but never looked thru and found this new member forum till now. Im Lance but everyone calls me Jack, ive been into 240Z's since around the late 1980's, Ive had 4 240's so far, and a datsun 310GX (GX stands for: Goes Xtremelyslo....) the 1st one got destoryed by a car full of Gangsters in a front end crash while I was taking a short cut through a bad part of town.. I barely got out of there in one piece! I now own 3 Z's 1971 240Z parts car 1973 240Z on loan to my son..who crashed his (yuck) honda.. and 1971 240Z i currently drive, (see avatar) Which is my sleeper project car, an extremely clean all stock interior/exterior, or…

Me and my dad both have newer Z's. Me a 90 300zx, my dad a 03 350z. I convinced him to get that american muscle dream out of his head with the 350z now thats over and I further convinced him to go halfs on a project classic Z. We searched and found a 75 280z in good/great shape, needed some tuning up and a little interior work. It had the original motor in it still with 109k documented miles, my only complaint was a repaint that wasn't the original color and they didn't bother with the engine bay, car was silver now its dark blue. It has always been in California so no rust from what I have found. I love this website and its tips, hope to see some locals at meets with one…

Hi all, I've been visiting this site as a guest for a long time, but finally registered. I've got a 71' 240z that I picked up for 800 bucks from a guy that was turning it into a drag car. He pretty much stripped the interior and burnt up most of the wiring, so I have a lot of work cut out for me. The body is decent. It has a 260 engine and it runs pretty well. Has some rust in the frame rails. I'm in the middle of upgrading the ingnition. You can check out some pics in my gallery. -BC

My name is Cameron. I'm 20 years old (almost) and I currently drive a 93 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Edition. I've been wanting to get a RWD sporty car ever since my friends started drifting. My dad used to be a big fan of Z's (240z's in particular) and I was curious; are 240z's anything for drifting? I know the 240sx is an awesome car for it, but I think the 240 datsun is a classic.

Hi, I'm not actualy a new user but I've only posted once and I've never introduced myself properly. I purchased a 1970 240z (vin HLS30-01996) about five months ago as a project car. I owned a 280Z about six years ago and always regreted getting rid of it. My plan is to eventually do a total restoration, but for now I just want something I can drive to work a couple of times a week. What I am hoping to get most out of this forum, is advise from people that have done a restoration and can help me avoid mistakes. I've taken lots of picures so far and plan to get a gallery going soon. When my restoration is done I would like to have a car that is fairly original, so I would r…

Hi, I'm new to this Zcar club. I'm not even sure if anyone will read this. Anyway, I own two 280ZX's both 1983's, silver and orangemist, They are coupes, manual and non-turbo. It seems like 90% of all Z- lovers like the 240, 260, and 280's. I like the 280ZX's the best. I know they are the heaviest and the slowest, but they are still my favorite. I'm sure there must be others like me out there. Thanks, Bill

Hi, My name is Paul. I have owned a 72 240Z for about 8 years now. After tearing it down completely, bead blasting, lots of rust repair, adding a little fibreglass, new paint, I'm finally in the last stages of the rebuild. Mostly interior stuff now. I'm wondering if anyone could share a picture of the door latch setup. After 8 years, I've forgotten how that all is supposed to go together.

About 2 mos ago, I bought a 240Z HLS30-03486 build date 4/70 that had been sitting in an outdoor storage yard for 10 years. The fact that this is Phoenix AZ kept the rust away for the most part. The window being down did not help the interior any though. Anyway, on the title, the model year is listed as 1971, and the date first registered is 12/71. Since these cars were hard to get at the time - even backordered - its a mystery to me what the details of this car's early life are......

I just bought a rough looking 240z on ebay for $910. Need alot of work, but I have been looking for this car for a while now. Finnaly found one with a title in my buget. I hope to pick it up in the next week or two. Can't wait to get started on my project. I am going to school to be a auto mechanic, and I am currently a weapons mechanic in the air force. My car knowlege is slowly increasing, but there is still so much I have to learn. That was the main reason I picked the z. I also love japaneese sports cars. So why not retore thier first one. They need to have a spell checker on this sight, because my spelling is horrible. so hopefully I don't offend anyone wh…

Hello all! I'm currently the owner of a 98 240sx and an 89 Silvia clone. I plan to purchase my first Z (1978) after I sell my 98 to a family member. It's so refreshing to join a board with members who rather help, than chastise :classic:

I'm not so new here. Posted a few, but I really don't remember introducing myself. I also put up an avatar and signature, so I figure I'd test it out here. My car - the avatar - 1971 Nissan Skyline "Hakosuka" Why here? Lots of tech that is useful for old L-series engines.
