I'm fairly new here and to the Z scene. I have a 1971 240z which my parents were the original owners of. It was sold to my friends aunt and then bought back by me. It's been sitting for a good 10 yrs now and I've been working the past year on bringing it back to life thanks to the advice and knowledge from the members here. I would probably be ripping my hair out or spending alot more money if it weren't for this site. Thank you all and keep up the good work. Chris P.S. Any members here from the East Bay Area?

[re-posted from "Getting help with your Z" forum] So, I had a '78 in high school and a '77 briefly while in college (don't ask where they are now, it hurts too much... suffice to say that they are in heaven). It has been years, my wife and I have been sharing a Murano (LOVE that car btw, we just moved to FL, and I have never had such a satisfying road trip), but she's working now and we needed a second car, something we could buy cash to avoid another car payment. I started looking at Civics and whatnot when I slapped myself on the head and realized what an opportunity I had to finally get the car I'd always wanted (or something reasonably close). The hunt began... I real…

If I may I would like to inform all that my 1973 S30 was stolen Saturday night. It was stolen from the corner of 6th and Orange in Huntington Beach, SoCal. It was silver and I had recently installed the fender mounted mirrors. If anyone hears anthing or notices a new owner or new parts supplier be suspect for me and when all seems well get the best deal you can. Sometimes it hurts a great deal to think about it, and the first night I hopped on the classifieds to get ideas for new cars I was beginning to long for it like never before. It's really an amazing thing how when you work on and tune and care for a car it feels as though it becomes part of you. I hope this sort of…

I have a 3 cars (Mercedes SL and SEC and a brand new Nissan Murano) but for soem reason I have always been drawned to the early 240 Z. I think the lines on the 240z remind me of a daytona ferrari. I have joined this club because I am interested in picking up a 1970 or 1971 Z and updating it to a modern look. I know that statement alone will bring me heckles from the purists, but I want to update with modern wheels, engine and drivetrain and shave of side lights and other cosmetic updates. I basically want to modernize to look like a hybrid ferrari, or as I like to say a "Japarri". I live in the 818 area code of the San Fernando Valley, CA and I would love to find a…

Hello all, I used to be a member of this site a while ago but lost touch with it after joining the Army and being in training for almost a year. So, now I'm located in an area where I think I'll finally be able to get a classic sports car, and I think the 240Z is what I want to get into. Anyway, I'm here in Salinas, CA near Monterey, and I plan to be at the Historics this summer, so hopefully I'll see some of you there. Joel

Hi i was wondering how I could manage making a 240z door fit onto a 280z body... I just purchased a 1976 280z and the doors are rotted completely. I have a 72 parts car with really nice doors, is there any way i could make the doors fit onto the 280? I am missing the C locking device on the body side to the 240 doors, but is there anyway to rig up sumthin even since im missing that part? i dont have the car just yet and havent gotten a thurough look at the 280z, but i do kno the doors need replacing =) Maybe someone has done this before? Any help is greatly appreciated! I looked at previous threads and i know they arent an exact match. EDIT: damnit... posted this under…

Overall i'm very happy. Since i bought her i've been sorting out a lot of little bugs. This prevented me from driving more than a few blocks the day i bought her. I finally finished the alternator conversion today, so she was up and running. I went on about a 30 min cruise, got to go through all the gears, get her up to speed, take some turns, it was really enjoyable. The car feels exceptionally tight. The original PO really kept up on almost all mantainance stuff. The rear springs are shot though, i was bottoming out quite a bit. I have some new Tokicos that'll fix that A lot of wind/road noise comming from the hatch area as well (How could i fix that?) I was dissa…
