Hey guys, just happened to stumble on this site while searching for parts and information on a 1982 280Z 2+2. I just found out that my uncle has one that is just sitting around collecting rust, dust, and anything else nature can throw at it. I would love to purchase it off of him and restore it, but it would be my first major project ever, and I don't exactly have a whole lot of funds. However, I will not give up on that car, it's my new dream. Any suggestions, questions about the car? Thanks

Introducing "His Holeyness, the 101370th 240Z" Yes its true, I have received my rare as rocking horse shite, Solomon Islands limited edition 73 240z. Complete with more rust that you can't poke a stick at. If there was an example of a rusty zed, then this is it. Body is shot. L28 with triple 44's, with 2 spare 44's. 2 diff's, 3 gearboxes, spare L24 with round tops and E31 (takes my hoarding to 2 x E31 now). Interesting wheels. Has vented disks up front. Car to be stripped for parts and then it will fall apart. We open the hatch by just bending it back up on the roof. We can't stop laughing at it.

Well guys I just got word from Sports Car International magazine that they will be running an article in their magazine next issue (due out in 30 to 45 days) with my BRE 240Z replica. The weekend of December 18th we finished getting my Z running in time for the JGTC. That Sunday afternoon Peter Brock fired up the car and drove it over to the pit area at California Speedway for a photo shoot with a JDM 350Z (see photos in my gallery). Anyway the article will be out in the next Issue, be sure to go to your news stand and pick up a copy or two.

It's here!!! A purchase that began just after Christmas has completed! After all these years my searching has ended. I picked her up today. When I got there she had a dead battery so I had to jump her. I'll figure out the cause of that shortly. Here she is... 1972 Datsun 240Z, Orange (918), Black Interior, Original L24, Original 4 spd, Original Z hubcaps, Original Owner, Dealer Installed A/C, HLS30-47945. Manufactured 9/71. Does NOT have retracting seat belts. Defrost lines ARE vertical. Needs new dash - original has like 4 or 5 major cracks. New Glove Box Door - original is hanging on for dear life. A couple of good size dings - Drivers door & roof?!?, also…

Hi All, It's been several months since I got my non-running 240Z. I've been fixing it up mechanically (with advice from you guys) and trying to pass NJ state inspection. Well, today I finally passed (my third attempt). I've put in a lot of hours and several hundred dollars, but it was gratifying and enjoyable most of the time. Now I've got some minor mechanical issues left and major cosmetic issues. The most pressing issue is rust, rust, rust - everywhere! Well, I still get compliments and I love driving it (and I can actually do so without suffocating from fumes - yay!). Thanks to all of you for your great advice (in many cases I didn't post a question - I just searched …

Drove to the Sunny coast for a few days during the week and decided to take the datto instead of the big blue beast (International Scout in my gallery) I had replaced the rear left hand wheel bearings last week, so at least that was a lot quieter. For future reference, the inner bearing is a real pain to drive into the housing. Filled up with fuel as I left home and hit the highway. The thing did the trip without a worry averaging about 70mph (125 km/h) for the trip, with a 15-20 minute stint sitting on 90-95mph (140-150km/h ) at the end. Drove around in heavy traffic and lots of lights for about 50 miles, then came home a few days later. Stopped to fill up half wa…

Hmph!! Yesterday I was stopped in traffic by someone who pulled up next to me, obviously anxious to talk about the z. He wound down his window and said " that's a great looking Ford Capri". He was (I think) trying to impress his wife/girlfriend/ significant other (who was in the passenger seat) by his automotive knowledge.. Ford Capri?!?!? Sure, the bumpers are off it at the moment, but a fish n' chip V6 banger? Oh please..I was tempted to say it took me ages to modify it to look like a 70's Japanese sportscar, but resisted the temptation. At least he could have said "Ferrari Daytona!"

I am working in DC and have been since early August. I am from Texas (if my name isn't a dead giveaway) and I am returning there tomorrow to start Graduate School in January. The sad part of my tale began in march, when I had low speed (5-7mph) encounter with a pickup truck on I-35 in Austin Gridlock traffic. I was driving and had had a bad day, with lots of annoying circumstances and I really pissed a friend who had ballsout lied to me about a radar detector I was gonna pick up from him in Austin, and the whole reason for my trek there... So i wrecked my car, which was at the time, a 1981 Toyota Celica, that I was the third owner, my dad had purchased it from the fir…

hello my name is mat and i just bought a 260z a couple days ago. This car was a daily driver and was put to rest for two years. I am the second owner of the car. I have been looking for a 240 or 260 for about a year now. I love everything about these cars. I live in louisiana so these cars are hard to come by. I finally found one that still in good shape. The car is orginaly from louisiana. I was looking in texas and florida for one for a decent price. It does have some rust areas like the battery tray and floors but what can u expect from a classic :classic: right now i just have pics at cardomain http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/747952. short story i just got the …
